Power in the motor or steering?

Your RPM's drop and the powering steering puts additional load on the motor. Could this be what you're talking about?

seems like it loses power to the wheels, steering wheel is ok. feels like engine loses power when making turns, or maybe its just harder to get engine power to wheels when turning. its always been like this, at least as far back as i remember. this happened on my chrysler sebring too. im thinkin its because it fwd.

when the wheels are turned the cv joints/axles are not straight to the transmission, so some torque is lost
Are you trying to gun it at full lock?
Also the width of the tire is presented to the road surface more than going straight
Plus the TL has speed sensative steering- depending on your year it works in different ways but-- generally boost low speed parking lot speed steering responce and tightens the steering at freeway speed
Check the owner book for details on its operation
