I'm coming around to 13k on my 00 tl. Around how many miles should I start worrying about my tranny?

It varies, mine went at 36,000 miles and I have seen others go much earlier. Some are not affected well up into the 80,000 mile range. Some are not affected at all. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for what vehicle has the problem and when.

I heard frequent transmission flushed and not abusing sport shift can help.

i got a 2000 at 33K miles and runs just fine. jus did a manual tranny flush. i think as long as u dont abuse ur tranny like some ppl do (flooring the gas and hard braking all the time), ull be fine

Finally, a tranny string thats is not too depressing....
I was beginning to think that Honda/Acura really produced a lemon...
I was wondering if anyone (moderatores..??) had an idea
on what is the ratio of total members on this site to the members who had a tranny blow-up..?
My '02 TL has less than 11k Km on it, and thinking when it MIGHT just all go pooff...

its a complete flush, poppin the drain bolt and refilling exchanges out less than half of all the fluid...that means u still have over 50% old fluid in ur tranny

survey says most all trany failures are with type S 2001 and later.
haven't heard of too many 2000 tranny failures.
I got 42K on my and no problems.
Recommend dealer "power" flush every 30K vs manual drain.
