Tranny Fluid???

After my spanking by a caveleare last night, was chatting with a local shop owner and he said that once the car breaks in fully, puring out the tranny fluid and putting in syntetich fluid will improve the HP displacement that happends at teh tranny, wont be a big diff but maybee a up to 5hp diff?? anyone hear of this is this true??

You can use synthetic in your engine for maybe a 1 or 2 horsepower gain but do not use anything except Honda ATF in the transmission.

if you put non honda fluid in your tranny, and it fails under the warranty period, Acura might do an anaylsis of your fluid to see if its Honda, or aftermarket.
Reason... if it fails with symptoms that are not consistent with the current failure rates, then they begin to investigate why.
You can be sure that if you use a non Honda tranny fluid, you will void the warranty on the tranny.
Stick with the Acura recommended fluid until the warranty epires.

wait until the warranty ends, do what you want, or take a chance and dont wait.
Thems are the alternatives.

Reduce the amount of displacement ??? To either increase or decrease the amount of displacement you need to change the bore, stroke or both. This means pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft and possibly cylinder head work.

as per manual...use a dexron III in the absence of honda ATF no warranty will be voided and they will never test your fluid unless it's not red colored meaning B&M trick shift is blue....even still i refer you to your owners manual

Redline makes an excellant synthetic tranny fluid, but even they say to stay with Honda's recommendation. What brand were you thinking of using ?
