What do I need to open the drain bolt on the bottom of the tranny.

3/8" ratchet with an extension or a 3/8" breaker bar.

i used a 1/2" drive to get mine off because i sheared my 3/8" extension on it. a bigger ratchet will make life very easy.

can i ask how you did that? the opening is for a 3/8 end of a wratchet.
