That's a decent price actually. I got quoted for my 99 TL with 106K on it for $12-13000!!! Plus, the guy said that the modifications drag the price down. So probably by the middle or end of summer my car is getting traded in.

What car are you going with now?

I think it be hard to trade in my TL, really would. I had them all nice rigs from 4x4 truks/suvs. The only other ride that performs smooth, rides as nice and quite for the under 25k budget was the Maxima.

Friends here at work ask me which I like better my old Maxima or new TL. Shizzzzzzzz I told them TL baby!!

But good luck w/ what you got. Does not seem too much out there is really eye candy that I would give my TL away for.

YOu also have to remember that if you turn in a car at a dealership to purchase something new, you will be able to get a tax break on what you traded in. If the car he was buying was 30K, you will subtract the 17K trade value and only get taxes on 13K of the new car. It is like getting another $1445.00 for the car in NY (17,000 * 0.085 tax rate = $1445.00). Basically it was as if he got 18,445 for the car instead of 17K. Not that bad of a deal if you ask me.

Are you kidding? I should trade my son's car in and get something newer!

He paid less than that for his with 75K on it...there MUST be something wrong with it.

No joke man. I nearly crapped my pants when they told me. It was very tempting to not just give my car up on the spot and get an STI. Hopefully the same deal (little bit less) will be available by the end of the summer.

THOSE MAXIMAS ARE RARE! you shoulda kept it.. damn. or sold it to me. i was actually looking for the 99 model gen with the 5-speed at one point in lakeshore blue. thats hot though, maxima se to a TL isnt a huge jump but the TL is alittle more comfortable and fun to drive.

Yes my MaximUs was peppy and is a huge improvment from my previous 98 Maxima auto and non-SE version. But I dunno. I feel my TL will eat it.

I am calling out one of my old boys that still has is 98 SE 5spd w/ stage 2 clutch, Y-pipes and Air intake, but he has not commit to me for a small run. No hard feelings, but I feel it would be one hell of a run w/ my TL versus his Max w/ them mods. But TL is a lot more car. My max has no where near the options my TL has. But both very quite rides, both awsome motors. But Acura just seems to be a better overall brand vehicle then Maxima's were or are.

-I did have my 99 SE 4 sale, I was trying to sell it w/ 75K @ 8500.00 , no offers untill some old ass folks over 60 years old bought it. Hey hail to the king. Say wasss to them old farts that cruise my old SE.

How is that a good deal when a 2003 TL-S w/ Navi was traded in for 17K and your 99 TL w/ over 100K miles was offered 13K?

It's more like he got screwed, you got a good offer.

Personally, I would never trade my TL-S in for what the dealer would give me for it. That's why I still have mine. I love it WAY too much to get rid of it for half of what I bought it for.

dude just because they are giving u 12 or 13gs for ur car doesnt actually mean thats wat u r getting, if u make them go lower on the total price of the new car, they will give u a lower quote on ur trade in car to even it out, they can give u 16gs for ur car, but then jack up the price of the car u r going to buy to even it out,, most dealerships do that, i bet u they wont go down on the price of the new car now if they are willing to give u 12 to 13gs for ur car..

fool...out of all the suv's at least he picked one that'll make you redline your TL trying to take him....don't be so harsh, it's just a ride....don't expect everyone on the forum to be so "sprung" on the TL...

A TL can't save you money on rent! Good luck with the house MichellinMan.

While the TL-S is much more refined than an Xterra, I've had that truck and it is far from a shitbox. Be that as it may. Prepare for some seriously AWFUL gas milegae - you'll get about 10 MPG in the city on a premium fuel.

well that makes alot more sense!!, i thought u would rather have the exterra over the TL-S, i personally think they are ugly, but if its just a temperary car who cares, good luck on the house, definitly a smarter way to buy a house, less debt.
