Track-inspired

Hey guys, sorry to annoy you with my posts but I will be turning my TL-S into a track/daily driven car. In no means will this be soon but it'll be a very slow transition into this.

Here are my future plans for this car:
1. Weight reduction
2. Engine and tranny swap (Not sure on which)
3. Canards and wing (APR possibly)
4. Full Suspension upgrade
5. Roll Cage

Any opinions on what I engine and tranny I should use?

That Integra looks like mine from back when.

I would also get some light weight rims. Enkei makes them. Your engine and tranny should be fine maybe have an extra tranny sitting on stand by. Also a lower frame cross brace (cusco), That will tighten your car around corners.

I was planning on switching to a standard transmission instead of the tiptronic one that we have. So should I just switch out both the tranny and engine or just the tranny?

You already have a type-s engine so there is no need to swap it unless you want to build a 3.5-3.7

I had the J35 in mind but I'm not sure yet. What's your honest opinion? Should I just keep the j32a2 and put in a manual transmission or swap it with the '07 type s engine and tranny?

fsttyms1 has done it all, see his build threads
get rid of the auto trans,,well wear it out as you are learning
then drop in the bigger motor with 6 speed. clean the intake ports etc up on motor

see thread title ` Putting the TL on a diet~ iirc its a gen3 ziner who stripped it down for autocross- a winning car/driver
its the info place

our Performance section will have lots of good advice too

You will have to do quite a bit more to get that engine and trans to work, and personally i wouldnt touch those motors UNLESS you swapped over the heads from the J32A2.

I personally?? I made mine a 3.7 for the torque and hp for my track days. I could have boosted it but i liked the the way NA power is delivered on the track, especially FWD.

note fsttyms1 gets to track day at one of the fastest roadrace course in the country Road America
with a back straight long enough to rev out a TL to its top speed
(whats that for you now K? 150+?)

at most tracks you wont get past 3rd gear, 4th for a few seconds and downshift/brake for next turn
but our megamod NEEDS massive torque and HP you see, because he drives on the freeway and backroads thousands of miles a month

reminder to noobs: a track day habit makes crack look like sound financial planning

Still limited by the 149 cutoff (which comes quickly)

65 bucks gets you 3 pulls and a t shirt. Plus then I get to finally see the beast! I can't wait to see what I'm at right now then again when I finally decide I'm finished with it. Been working on aesthetic stuff lately, trying to install JDM front clip and install decent speakers etc but eventually I'll be back to the motor.
