Totalled...

Yup... I totalled my car.... :bigcry: I was on the freeway goin about 70mph when a van decides to swirve into my lane from 2 lanes away (not even stopping in the middle lane) and I guess he sees me and decides to slam on his breaks in front of me... happened so fast that I couldn't react and slammed into him... Since he wasn't even fully in my lane, my passenger side took all the damage... per the insurance company, I might have a chance since he wasn't fully in my lane... I mean, there was nothin I could have done... the airbags hurt a lot... lol...

To top it all off, my car was first towed to a local towing company and then was transferred to a storage facility which my insurance company owns. I go there a couple days later to take some stuff out of the car which I left and I see this...

Either the towing ppl or someone tried jacking my navi unit... and in the process of "trying" they obviously broke it and just left it there... the screen was all hanging, my center console as you can see was all messed up... which at the time of the accident, my interior had no damage except for the airbags deploying.... my navi was workin, everythin was in place.... lol.... AND, the next thing I know is my fault but I'm still pissed off... they jacked my radar detector (solo s2) which I left in there....

anyways, my car is done for.... jus wanted to thank everyone on the forums who has helped me out in the past for all the great info..

as for a new car? I have no idea... thinkin about either a used AP2 or a 93~97 Soarer (Lexus SC) project...

well, it was a good couple years... thanks a lot everyone

Hey, sorry to hear that. Most of the time, the junkyard people or letting their people in and jack your car. It happens all the time. I hope you get the recovery soon for a new car. Good luck man.

Sorry to hear about your car loss. The ppl who tried to jack your head unit are jackasses, the HU would of been worth something.

Anyways, I was wondering if you are selling/parting out your Combat Evo Carbon Shift Knob? I have a Type-S shift knob I can trade you or I can buy it as is, let me know. If you are selling it i call dibs.

I tired PMing you this msg but you exceed ur max storage PM capacity.

Sorry to read of your accident.

See if your insurance company can fold the radar detector theft into the collision claim so you don't get killed by two deductibles.

man that sucks. good to hear you came out of it ok and those towers and lot holders are some thiefs. i remember when my friends mustang got totalled, he called me and we followed it to the lot where they were holding it for appraisal and ripped everything out of it before it could get stolen.

terrible f-n drivers, man, just terrible.

sorry to hear that. It really sucks that you can put so much love and work into a car just to have some idiot do that. Then to have it potentially be your fault. THEN get ripped off by the people that are responsible for moving your car for you. Kinda makes you want to keep a baseball bat in the trunk.

Good luck with the insurance company. Hopefully you get to make a little bit of money out of it. I'd be interested in buying your tails and your cup holder if you want to take those into consideration for selling.

sucks dude. at least you're fine. both airbags deployed? most likely they'll pay you out. my gf got into an accident with her Rav4 and it looks just like yours. She rammed someone at a red light while she was going 35MPH..haha...might I add, she was trying to call me, which caused her to be distracted. anyways, damages were 12K to fix. they just paid her out. Your damages look the same, but a little worst than hers.

Man, that's a drag. If the airbags went off, chances are it's totalled. Towing companies are the worst. When I wrecked my RSX-S they tried to tow it to their impound lot instead of the garage my insurance company told me to take it to and tried to claim I didn't pay them.

that sucks I'm glad you came out of it ok though.....I thought I was having a bad day getting a ticket from some pig but, yours pretty much takes the cake. A lot of tow places are pretty damn shady, my father in law had his car towed to the boonies, The tow truck came by and when they heard where it was gonna be towed they refused, so we called AAA again n they sent the same a$$ho.. It took 5hrs for them to tow it then which originally takes an hour and a half. When it got there everything from the trunk was stolen!!!

Glad that you are okay man. At 70 MPH that could have been a LOT worse. I had a similar situation happen at the end of February where I got the blame for a ticket when a guy turned in front of me trying to make a light and I hit him. Since I was laying in the back of an ambulance, everyone decided that I must have run the light and hit him.

The cop got in to the ambulance and tried to give me the ticket while I was strapped to a gurney in a neck brace and my hand wrapped up! (It cracked the windshield)

I hate to hear that on top of all that you had your car vandalized on the lot. The towing business can be a very shady business. Good luck with your next ride and I hope that the settlement at least turns in your favor.

Hurts to see that beauty in that state. The insurance co better make good on it. Not to sound like a predator, but since you've mentioned selling parts off it, I'll take the side skirts. Let me know
