TL vs. E36 325i

I don't usually post kill stories, but I thought I would share an experience I had last fall.

I was driving my 94 325i 5spd, lightly modded to around 200-210 hp. (chip/exhaust) on the way to an NSX gathering. (My NSX was in the shop).

I was leading a group of four NSXes that I had met up with for the drive down, and traveling at a fairly rapid pace, probably around 90 as I merged onto the interstate.

For some reason, a white 2nd Gen TL thought he would try to race me. I don't know if it was a TL or TL-S, as I never saw the back and I was concentrating on the road more than the other car. It was probably a normal TL. He either gave up or hit the limiter at 130, at which time I was many car lengths ahead. I don't think he was geared for much top end, perhaps it was a 99 4 speed?

Then again, that 325i was (in modded form) a 6.5 sec 0-60, 15.0 second quarter mile car.

the TL-P is governed at 150mph

good kill even tho i think a TL-P can/should do better..

even if it was a type S at about 107mph it would have shifted to 4th and you would've pulled hard on him. If so it prob would have been very close until then.
most peps know those german car are built for the Autobahn. and the tl-s does its business in first, second, and third.

What chip did you use to get that much bump. You have to be giving numbers from the crank, not rear wheels. Besides the exhaust, anything else moded - headers? cams?
