i was reading on this acuraparts website,
they have a turbo for universal fitments,
has anyoen tried this , can we do it, how much hp do you think you woudl gain??

 

what are you dumb??? First of all a turbo doesnt just attch itself to the engine, it's mounted on the exhaust manifold which is different for every engine so how the hell could a turbo kit be universal?? Dumbass.....

Can you give us a link, thus it would not be a bolt on, it could be done with lot's of modifications.

They do sell turbo kits that are somewhat "universal", more or less its just a turbo and you have to add however many mods you need to get it into the car.

 

Ok i gotta back whiskey up on this, They're are turbos that are pretty much universal.
I'm too tired to double check this but i think this site has turbos but u gotta chose the right one for your car

All turbos are universal. It's just the piping from the exhaust
manifold to the turbo then to the exhaust and the intake pipes
thats custom. It's like a muffler, all mufflers are universal... it's
just not smart to put in on all applications.

 

when i went to get my car dynoed last week, the shop i went to does work starting with body work and builds full blown hot rods . i asked them how much for a custom turbo for the TLS... they guy said that it would easily run 12k with about 13psi for a twin turbo. said a single turbo would be almost as much cuz u'd need a bigger turbo... kinda sad... i thought it might be around the same price as a SC.

 

When I was in school, one of my school mates drove a Civic hatchback. He deliberately cut open the plastic bumper grill and put in an intercooler and some plumbings behind it. However, the ends of the plumbing went no where inside the engine. Everytime people asked him about his "intercooled turbo", he always had that nasty smile on his face. So the lesson is : a visually mounted intercooler piece doesn't mean that the car has a turbocharger or supercharger !!
