Thumbs up TL sub replacement -- do u want in?

I'm planning to upgrade my stock TL sub with the Kicker RMB8 like Dr. Cookie....(for more info, do a search on this thread)

Anyways, they sell these in pair..of course, we only need one. So I'm trying to find another person to slit it with. Best price I've found is $129 plus shipping...so around $80 shipped to your door (one speaker). If you're interested, please let me know.

I'm not sure what kind of amp at htis point..probably just pick up a cheap amp....just a little stronger to push the sub since stock amp is only 1 ohm or something...

Yes, this is the sub only..you will have to buy the amp yourself...The reason I'm doing this is because the sub is sold in pairs..you don't need both so slitting up the cost helps both parties.

I'm interested, but how much would a decent amp cost to run it? Also do you know the frequency response of the stock sub?

I bought a used Alpine T502 for $81....should be plenty for the kicker. You just have to search for your own amp. I'm not exact sure what the stock freq resp. is...but i don't think it's matter cuz we are tapping into the pre-amp wire (sub) for the new amp to power the new sub. Stock sub amp will be taken out (or by-passed) cuz it's useless.

Jensen makes a great product, with rich deep bass. Add that to an Audiovox amp and you have yourself a competition setup.

randomwalk101 - I know the stock sub is being replaced, I'm just curious if I would be "losing" any frequencies due to the kicker not being a true sub.

Davediego,
I can't answer that question YET since I have not installed the sub yet..it will be here *this* friday...so until then...
But I have done all the wiring for my sub and amps..all I have to do is switch out the sub Friday whenever it gets here and plug it in and rock on
DrCookie have done it and according to him, it is a lot better than stock and nothing is "lost". But if you think about it, the stock sub is so crappy, you can barely hear it anyways...you loose a lot when you can't hear it
Anyways, I took out the stock sub and stock sub's amp today...man, the damn stock sub is made out of paper...and the magnet is about the side of your pinky..JESUS! Again the stock sub's amp??? it's the HALF the side of your palm!!!! and it's made in Mexico... :wow:

i think the stock sub is very good. changing it out would be cool though. But, it would be better to change the whole system and get a bigger sub for better effect.

I always thought Kraco was a serious performer, also I hear Radio Shack makes a great product.
