Does anyone have any info on when the TL type-S will be available in the six-speed transmission?? I read somewhere that Acura is making them, but not sure when? Should be tight as hell though!!

 

aren't they coming for 2003? or was it 2004? If you do a search in the forums, you'll probably find out.

 

I talked to the sales manager at the local dealer, and he was
just as clueless as anyone else.
He recalled reading something about it in one of the car mags
but there was no official word from Acura.
So for now it's still all just speculations.
He also showed me his incoming inventory list through Nov.
and they were ALL 5-speed SS(for both TL's and CL's)
Sure hope it's not too far in the future, though!

yes, 6 speed for rsx, and 6 speed for cls too.

well, no matter what, if they make a 6 speed tls, they should definitely change the tires. i remember reading someone test driving the tls 6 speed for acura and saying that both 1st and 2nd gear the wheels could take enough grip of the ground...

 

Yeah so maybe during the next redesign either the CL or the TL will also come out with a six speed...

Acura currently only makes a 6 speed in the rsx-s and nsx....they may, this is not confermed, so even if you hear it online it dosent meen they definitly will, put a 6 speed in the CL-S in the spring as an early 2003 model....then based on the sales of that put one in the TL. Again all this is internet rumors and until you see it, you cant guaruntee that it will happen. Also people at dealerships, ie sales managers, know just as much as we do if not less, so asking them constintly wont get you anywear, cause they just know what the factory tells them, and if they are geting in a 6 speed, trust me you would here about it on one of these boards very quickly.
