FoR TL over 100K??

Well I have 99TL and it's going to hit 100k. I Only had it almost year now(Nov-03) Also had tranny change at 86K. I know all warranty is over after i hit the 100k.Been debating if i should trade it or keep it. I only found out All About this Tranny issue only after buying my TL. Don't get me wrong it love my TL. But Here my Question,

How Many TL out there with over 100k had to replace there tranny after your warranty expire. What is the cost to getting a new Tranny an What kind of warranty does new tranny come with?

There are a couple of guys on here with over 100K miles and had their tranny fixed for free. More than likely, dealerships will fix it free of charge. If not you can always bitch at HQ and get them involved.

BTW, I just had my tranny replaced at ~91K for my 99 TL.

There is a warranty on the new tranny... I think its 12mo/20K.... and my dealer said even if it goes beyond that they will help me out. I wouldn't worry about it though... my tranny seems fine. Had mine done at 97K, and I'm at 115K now.

My tranny went at 109k and Acura is trying to screw me. I have been without my car for 2.5 weeks now. I have submitted a case at headquaters. This whole prcess is really pissing me off. I had an apointment scheduled to have the jet kit installed and my tranny blew the day b4 my appointment.

I take excellent care of my cars, I learned from my father who is a mechanic. The only mod I have is a cold air intake. It really saddens me that Acura does not ant to be accountable fro shotty engineering by there chosen tranny manufacturer.

1. Sorry for the short venting session
2. Any advice?

Correct me if I am wrong..

Am I mising something here? This is the 4AT, not the 5AT of the 01+ TL's (which have been having all the problems) right?

I think from what I hear the 4AT transmissions are pretty bulletproof (or at least better than the 5AT) and also that these transmission do not have the extended warranty from Acura on them.

Nope I have a '99 and received a letter from Acura last March telling me that due to higher than normal problems, the transmission is warranted for 6 years or 100k.

eesh.... I'm so glad that I have only had one problem. I really hope that this new tranny lasts. I'm still wondering why there isn't another 100k/7yr warranty on any new tranny they install. I mean, when they replaced my 4AT, there wasn't ANY difference from the previous one right? Its essentially the same thing. I dunno... My dealership is great. They did mine, and I have a "grey market vehicle" and would not normally do it. In fact, the dealer has STILL not been paid for my tranny replacement, which was last march. Acura is giving them problems about my car being from Canada, and me living here.... bunch of bullshit, but my dealer sill says they'll help me out even if my tranny does go out of its new warranty. Acura Carland in Atlanta is a GREAT dealership... Love the service there.

The 99 TL is COVERED under the extended warranty of 7 yrs/100K miles. The 99 TL's tranny is not bulletproof. My 99 TL's tranny just took a crap at 91K miles.

The 99-03 TL's and '98 - '02 V6 Accords all have problems. Same with the Odyssey and maybe the MDX. In fact, it seems most of the J series trannies are bad to some degree

The 5AT started in 2000, not 2001. Yes, the 99s had a 4-speed

The Pilot as well is affected. It's a hazard of sharing components and platforms.

How about the RL ( I know the CL HAS to have the same tranny issues, it's a 2 door TL)?
