Yep, battery can be checked quickly and for free at any "big" auto parts store (Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc.) Same goes for alternator, although it should still be under warranty and has to be removed for checking just like the battery.

I had every thing from Playstation to Playstation 2 to my whole system plugged into my stock 4 year old battery last year and it ran fine and so did my alternator... I now upgraded to an Optima due to it's cold cranking capabilities it's cold in MN...But with all the abuse my alternator takes 70K miles later it runs fine...The battery information dot is playing with you...But do have it checked...Batteries Plus can check them both for free and THEY will take them out to test them if you want, at least they do in my area...

Exclamation TL and Alternator

Hi folks,
Doing a little board jumping and wanted to aske my TL bros (and sisters) about an issue I have with my sisters TL. All stock, nothing modded that I am aware of.

It's a 99' with apx. 45k miles on it, and it appears the alternator just bit the dust. Haven't taken it into the dealership yet (should still be covered under warranty) but I thought this car would go problem-less through at least 100k miles (hopefully more, but it appears that's not the case. Last night I got the carjumped, turned off all accesories and let it sit for at least20 minuts hoping the car would charge the battery enough to have a good unassisted start. Unfortunately that wasn't the case

Checked the battery and the green eye is a perfect healthy green (so I assume it's not the battery).

I did notice that she kept her seat heaters on all the time (told her she needed to turn those frekin' things off when she shut down the car, and turned it back on then she could start those things back up again). Damn hope the thing lives up to the quality and workmanship I expect from Acura and Honda.

I'll bet you a quarter that the alternator is ok and the battery is dead. The indicator light on the battery is uesless, know this from experience. If you were able to jump start your car, but your car won't restart after you shut off the car, then the battery isn't recharging and it is dead. An easy way for you to test it is to bring the dead battery to any Automotive mechanic and they can test if it is good or bad in 5 minutes.
