Bro, 35% looks next to nothing, especially in the sunlight. If you are going to do anything just get 20% all the way around. The strip on the windshield is up to you, I don't like it, plus we already have a decent factory one, I think the strip looks tacky.

Look at pics and 35% is way too light. 20% on back windshield and all side windows looks perfect, plus I got a liftetime warranty also for like $160 (llumar tint - doesn't fade). You may also want to think about 15% on back windshield and 20% on the side windows to make them appear darker.

If you are set on 35% then you may want to get 20% on the back windshield and 35 on the sides.

You'll always want to go darker - trust me.

I have 30% on the back of my car, and you basically can't see in. I wouldn't go lower than 35% for the front.. I like being seen in my car.

BTW I have water spots that I couldnt get off of my windows, and I can still see them even with 20% tint. Not as bad I guess, but definitely still there.

Sorry gold I have to disagree.
I think 35% isn't "next to nothing" because with my current tints (22% front and 13% back) i sometimes have trouble seeing things at night. maybe it has to do with the fact that my tints are semi-reflective, but nevertheless I still wouldn't say 35 is nothing.
$135 is a good price, but remember you can always bargain.

Btw if you wanna check out pics of mine, click on link in sig.

well, i sorta agree with GOLDTL....35% is pretty light....most positions, specially in the sun, you can see totally through the car......only SOME SOME SOME position does it look black.....i've tinted my TL 3 different times because of this......i finally decided on 15%.....i like it, it's finally (almost) blacked out. As far as being seen??....i love being seen in my car, so i always have the windows down, or half down.....i say start at 20%, and see what happens....BTW, driving at night with 15% isn't THAT BAD....just have to concentrate on the sides to make sure there aren't any walkers or anything....good thing i didn't get 5% in the front which was my original plan. Good luck, and let us know what you decide on. -shawn

Hey people how it going, I just want to add my 2 cents, I live in hot ass florida. I have had nothing but illegal 5% for the last 10 years. I am so used to it, that I don't really notice it being a problem at night. I do have to roll windows down in the evenings sometime to back in the driveway. But I gladly live with that inconvience because the trade off is in the summer on those 105 degree days, I can roll around all day with my AC on just above low fan speed and feel just nice in the hot ass florida sun.

i say go Midway at 20%.... i was originally about to go 30/35 because of visibility, but now that i have 20% its not that bad at all, only time i have problems really is when im trying to parallel in the dark..
because if you go too light, you might end up regretting it, like my cousin. im happy i went with 20% and sometimes i wish i went a little darker.

i have 20s all around, except windshield. Especially on black and white cars, they will seems even darker. I think 20s are great, I've had it on all my cars, so Im use to it.

I have Llumar 30% metallic (no navi). With the slight reflective, it makes it look darker in the daylight, and I don't have to comprimise the night vision.

Random question..do the tint shops clean the windows before they apply the tint on or do they expect you to clean it first?

Thanks

it isn't the shops responsibility to remove the water spots, I mean they are on the outside of the window anyway. They do clean the inside which is where the tint goes.

I wouldn't go darker than 20% I got my tint installed two weeks ago. Actually would prefer a little lighter just so I wont get pulled over. My tint is actually lighter on the inside so there is no problem with night driving. Just keep in mind what the tint law is in NJ. Just my

I got 35% on mine. I had it done while I still lived in Minnesota, the anti-tint state. Now that I am back home in Colorado, I am getting mine redone to 20% all around. Here is my car with 35%. CLick on my signature links below.
