Tint Problem!

I just got my tint done today. I got 35% all around and it looks great except for one thing. There is a piece of tint cut out where the center brake light is. They said they could not remove the center brake light to fit the tint. When I looked at it, the center brake light is connected to the bose speaker. I can't figure out how to remove the center brake light so the tint can be placed. The tint store told me if you can figure out a way to give us enough room to put the tint on they would redo it. I have a 02' Nighthawk black pearl TL. I have seen other TL's without the tint cut out. Did anybody else have this problem when they got their car tinted? Need some advice to fix this tint problem.

My tinter didn't have a problem either. Now, I have the spoiler, so the center light isn't connected anymore - but it still shouldn't be a problem.

The piece of plastic that holds the "flip-door" for the child seats pops out (no need to remove the little flip door - it'll come out with the housing piece.) From there, just pop out the entire speaker cover.

It's not that difficult - your tinter should be able to do it just fine......good luck!

You just grab the whole plastic piece the bose speaker is in (not the cover the the speaker, the WHOLE thing) and pull.

Do you have a spoiler? If not then leave it open so that people can see the light for safety reasons. If you have a spoiler then you can do what I did which was to connect both the spoiler light and the rear brake light. My tint was cut around the light too and when I got my spoiler I spliced them together so that it would not look funny when the light would not come on when there was a cut out for it. I like the look now better anyway and IMO more lights are safer. Plus, taking tint off the rear window can be risky.
