Mine is the whole window (up to the dot-matrix). My installer removed the light, tinted the window, then put the light back on. That should all be part of the price of the tinting.....

Taking the light off to tint is a must. It looks so much nicer than when they cut around it.

I think that's kind of the point of the replies you got. The guy doing the tinting should remove it for you.

If you're doing the tinting yourself, then you may want to look into a repair manual as that should have directions, screw locations, etc.

I'd have to say that at least 99% of the people on here had someone do the tint for them, so I'm not sure how many people will know how to remove the 3rd brake light. If someone does... hopefully they'll pop in here and reply.....

Check with the installer

Had mine done while I waited, and he slid the tint down in front of the rear light without taking it out. Looks smooth as silk.

The screws for the 3rd brake light should be in your trunk. Just unscrew and the light will come off.

Where in Oregon are you located? IF you are in the Portland area check out:

Le Car
7100 Ne Glisan
PORTLAND OR 97213-5520
(503) 251-8228

They did my car and they remove the brake light and also do illegal for a slightly higher fee. I have 20% on a Nighthawk Black '03 TLS. The job turned out pretty good.
