timing belt parts?

When redoing the timing belt, is it necessary to get the whole tensioner assembly or do I just need the pulley? What is the benefit (if any) of getting the assembly?

You should get the tensioner. Its a different tensioner than the accessory drive belt tensioner. There isnt a pulley you need. Its highly recommended to get the tensioner. That fails, your motor is toast.

hmm...ok...thats what i thought...although i was quoted a price of 18 bucks for the tensioner pulley and 77 for the tensioner assembly...I take it the more expensive one is the one to go with?

the pulley isnt something that should be needed unless its noisy or you can see that it needs to be replaced. the tensioner is the more expensive part.

Yea i try!

Now would be a good time to get a UR pulley if you dont already have one. You have to take off the stock pulley and it would be the time to do it (just adding my to further help you out)
