Time to get things fixed

i've got a 2000 3.2TL and am mostly very pleased with it - however, there are a few annoying issues and since it's time for an oil change, i was going to get the dealership to look at them.

they are:

- squeak from the moonroof (especially when the internal cover is open)

- squeak / rattle interally - never really tracked it down

- smearing windshield wipers

reading through messages in this forrum, it seems like i'm not alone.

they (mike harvey service dept) have been pretty good so far so i'm not expecting a problem but you never know.

anyone else have any experiences they'd like to share regarding this? i'd be interested to know if it got fixed and if the fix actually worked.

thanks.

mituk.

I only used my windshield wipers like three times, and now both blade makes a water line from the middle of it. Cheap blades?
I only used it three times.

But everytime I wash the car, I also clean the blades... it is bad to clean the blades? I use towel to wipe it once lightly.

Greeting fellow Bay Area TLer..

I got the moonroof squeak fixed and that was great.
As for the other squeak, try the seatbelt, or even the seat itself.. they will probably want to go on a road test with you to test it out. Another place you might want look at is the rear deck.

As for the smearing wipers.. can't really say.. I guess I'll have to see. But they certianly don't work as well as expected.

thanks guys..

as far as the wiper blades go - when i use the car early in the morning, i notice that the whole windshield is smeared - spraying it with washer fluid and wiping works a little but it comes back every few minutes.. it's very annoying - especially when the sun shines on it - makes it impossible to see out.

the main reason i mentioned this is that i see there is a service bulletin out about it and wondered if i wasn't alone...

since i live near the airport, i wondered if it wasn't just "stuff" - hopefully fuel vapour :-D - from passing planes.

i'll post here if the dealership tells me anything useful

I dunno but when i got my TL it still had the factory blades -- they were horrid it was all streaky and I couldnt see $hit!!

I put Bosch blades on now -- MUCH BETTER
only thing I dont like is the FAST speed aint so fast

Theres a bulletin for this. there was a problem with the washer fluid in some cars. It was too strong and it starts to dissolve the rubber in all the lines, thats why you have greasy smears on the windsheild. I had this fixed under warranty.

I just called my Acura dealer regarding the sticky stuff on the windshield when I used my wipers last time. He was aware of the problem and told me to call him back to bring my car because he did not have the parts.

Please call your respective dealers and fixed the problem.
