Ticking sound while accelerating

Hey guys! I have a 2003 TL Type-S with 80k miles on it and have just recently developed a small problem with it. I changed the sparkplugs today (NGK Iridiums) and when I fired up my engine and took it for a spin, I noticed a faint ticking sound when accelerating. It's pretty annoying to constantly hear whenever I accelerate, and it's loud enough to be heard while driving the car. Even if I tap lightly on the gas pedal in park it still makes that sound. Is it possible it's somehow related to the sparkplugs? I think it would be too a big a coincidence otherwise as it only appeared directly after changing them. My dad knows about cars and he thinks it might be related to the fuel injector, but I want to know what you guys think.

Thank you!

From: Baja, México.
There are 2 possible things that might "Tick" when on the Gas will follow RPM and when on IDLE they still Tick:
EGR Solenoid and Valves.

EGR Solenoid: is located on top of the Brake Master Cyl and its pretty annoying when it ticks.

Valves: Pretty unlikely they started to tick with your spark plugs change.

My first thought would be since you just changed the plugs and it appeared directly afterwards, I would recheck all the plugs to make sure they are all tight. You may possibly have one loose

^^^ Yeah, if the ticking wasn't apparent before replacing the plugs.....recheck your work and anything that may have been disturbed in the process. Try to isolate the source if possible. The "EVAP" solenoid near the driver's side firewall is known to cause a ticking sound.

a loose spark plug will allow gas to escape the combustion chamber and cause a ticking like sound

did you torque them or just tighten by guess?

you all know my rule: If a new problem occurs after work performed- recheck that work!
we have seen recent examples here of did one project- managed to blow a fuse for something seemingly unrelated and no start or whatever- you get the idea

Hey guys, thank you for all the replies. I haven't visited the forums in a while and completely forgot about this post. I guess that might be a good thing as the problem went away on its own

You guys are awesome by the way. So many responses from the community to help resolve a problem I have. This is why I love owning an Acura, they have the best userbase in their forums.
