Ticking Noise after changing spark plugs

So I changed my spark plugs out on Sunday. Monday, I drive home and I hear this low ticking noise when i barely gas it. Sounds like I need a valve adjustment in a way. Could there been anything that I did wrong when I installed the plugs to cause a noise like this? The car runs fine, just the ticking noise. Thanks

Make sure they're all still tight. Look closely at the coils for any signs of arcing.

Maybe your just now noticing it because your paying more attention since you changed the plugs?

Open hood after dark and make sure you dont see any arcing. Look closely at all the plug wires/boots. It is possible to push the boots on to far and cut through the outer layer which results in the electrical charge escaping the wire causing an arc that produces a loud tic noise.

My TL seems to be a little more noisy in colder weather. Ticking=injectors/engine valves=when cold. It's that time of the year.

What do you mean by making sure all are tight? The coils?

I'll have to check it again. Loose plugs will cause a ticking noise? thanks

what plugs did you use?
anything but NGK iridium or platinum leaves you subject to ridicule

what did you use to set the torque?
did you use anti sieze on the the threads?

handle the coils like lightbulbs or eggs
If you drop a coil or bang it down at all- it will fail soon

So would the coil actually produce the ticking noise? If so it could probably be isolated with a mechanic's stethoscope, right?

i purchased NGK Iridium IX. the ones that were 7 bucks a pop. I just used my hand to torque. I just used my judgement I guess. Yes, I did put some anti seize on, but not too much.

I keep learning more and more about this Acura on this site. Anyone know ballpark figure on the $$$ for a coil? Not currently having a problem, but for future knowledge.

under 50 bucks for a coil--and we have 6 of them!

Hand tightened is ok as long as you did the finger tight plus 1/2 turn or whatever the box said
