Ticket for looking good.
well, not exactly.
just a ticket for having no front plate.. eh...
Went to go watch Dark Knight for the 2nd Time. saw some cops there but didn't mind.
I park my car and all of a sudden. they park in the middle and start walkin around and checking for anything. One of the cops looks at my front.. then my rear.. while walking away.. he's not turning away (staring at my rear.) I didn't mind so I just headed to the theaters.
Check out what the officer wrote for Make of Vehicle and Model.

^ They don't.
I haven't had a front plate on any of my vehicles for the past 10 years of driving. The one time i did get questioned about it, I told the officer my front plate was in the trunk because the front brackets were broken. He let me off with a warning.
Must just be bad luck, or he needed to fill his qouta.

Luckily, it was a fix-it ticket so I went to the police station in a neighboring town, the officer didn't even bother coming out to look at it. He just signed it off.

What pissed me off even more was that I saw plenty of cars in Merced with no front plate. I got one because the a-hole was bored.

cali has lame laws....
like that cellphone law...
i see people still eating their bagels or breakfast to-go and shit while having a bluetooth stuck in their ear and swerving trying to get their coffee.
OR~! like grabbing their phone to find a number to dial and such..
i think i should just move back to Arizona.... gotta love that they don't care of catless cars... unless.... something has changed...
but all in all. i just laughed at my ticket for saying Honda Inspire.

But, I have to say it is a violation. YES, it is a violation to have no front license plate on in California. You break the law you pay the consequences. And i've paid them as well. Its just a matter of time that cops in Cali catch you. Sure it's not fair, and I don't know the exact reasons, but most drivers in Cali know what COULD happen if you do break these laws. Sure some people will get away with it, but you are still breaking the law. And I still have my tint and no front license plate on, is just that I'm taking the CHANCE that I won't be caught.
Sorry that it happened to the OP, but it happens at times.
There is an actual reason they are now cracking down on the front plate.
Many of them get stolen and used as the rear plate on a different car used in a robbery.
Maybe even the same type car~ How woud you like SWAT to wake you up some 4am??
So by making sure you know its not there- you can report it stolen and get a replacement set of plates- and those will go on the hot sheet to watch for-
or- you can say yes I have it, and put it on.- then in Ca its a signed off no charge fix it ticket.
Same as front tints- they need to be able to see in the car- otherwise you may have a gun pointed at them,,,so they are going to approach you the same way
Several -like 11 - states added the hands free cell phone law july 1st. Its great! Now at least the left arm and hand is not blocking the drivers view when making a left turn, and they can pay a little more attention to the outside world.
There is a physical/emotional mental trigger when you raise your arm to hold the phone- your concetration on outside events pretty much stops and the focus go to the caller.
Use an earbud of some type- cords are ok- just holding the phone to your head is not
Velcro the phone to the steering wheel and drive by moving the wheel thru your hands instead of nascar style. Then the cord is down out of the way, you can answer or speed dial as needed. Some of us are not tech savvy to bluetooth or see the need for the $ when my $5 headset works good- and I dont use the cell phone that much.
Would make a great pic at track day though- everyone on the phone, hands up to helmet- coming thru the essess

Fuck the front plate law. I've been breaking it for 10 years.
Was your car moving or parked? If it was parked call BS because you were there at a mini car show with friends and you took it off when you got there. If the car is parked, and off of the road it's not necessary to have it on.
You better plead not guilty to this especially since they wrote the ticket wrong. When they type the plate in, it comes up Acura TL, so if he took a lil more time to write the ticket correctly instead of just being an ass to get his quota up. Simple state, thats not my car, I dont' drive a Honda Inspire.

None of the NY laws apply here in CA- there is no pleading a fix it ticket
you fix it and they sign it off- send the paper to court and its dismissed
Its all about the plate number for the records- the judge wont care if its honda or acura or saturn
Parked or not- the car has to meet all street legal requirements- licensed- registration current- not lower than is legal- exhaust is ok-wheels fit inside the fenders....
they are looking for stolen cars and stolen car parts, as can often be found on modified cars
you fix it and they sign it off- send the paper to court and its dismissed

Wheels fitting inside the fenders is rarely enforced, and won't apply for most people on Acurazine.
Although, it bugs the shit out of me when I see those old school Honda Accords or older Honda Civics, with like 12 inch wheels that stick out like 5 inches on each side. Even worse when the wheels are those 100 bicycle spoke wheels that used to be on the old Cadillacs.
Drive through Santa Ana or hell, I'm sure even in Buena Park theres a ton of them.
