Exactly what I did.

Cant you fight the ticket or something especially since the information is wrong? I heard that even if one piece of information is wrong, then the ticket is not valid or something and you can fight it. and this is a big mistake, Its not even registered under this make and model. I would fight it to see what would happen. If you have to pay, might as well go down with a fight.

Once the ticket is signed u acknowledge that u were stopped for a violation and you have the right to fight it in court. However, no judge is going to throw a ticket out b/c the make or model is incorrect. Maybe if the ticket was written for the wrong violation it could be thrown out.......

Quote: There is an actual reason they are now cracking down on the front plate.
Many of them get stolen and used as the rear plate on a different car used in a robbery.
Maybe even the same type car~ How woud you like SWAT to wake you up some 4am??

So by making sure you know its not there- you can report it stolen and get a replacement set of plates- and those will go on the hot sheet to watch for-
or- you can say yes I have it, and put it on.- then in Ca its a signed off no charge fix it ticket.
Same as front tints- they need to be able to see in the car- otherwise you may have a gun pointed at them,,,so they are going to approach you the same way

Several -like 11 - states added the hands free cell phone law july 1st. Its great! Now at least the left arm and hand is not blocking the drivers view when making a left turn, and they can pay a little more attention to the outside world.
There is a physical/emotional mental trigger when you raise your arm to hold the phone- your concetration on outside events pretty much stops and the focus go to the caller.
Use an earbud of some type- cords are ok- just holding the phone to your head is not

Velcro the phone to the steering wheel and drive by moving the wheel thru your hands instead of nascar style. Then the cord is down out of the way, you can answer or speed dial as needed. Some of us are not tech savvy to bluetooth or see the need for the $ when my $5 headset works good- and I dont use the cell phone that much.
Would make a great pic at track day though- everyone on the phone, hands up to helmet- coming thru the essess
I still had to pay $10. At least I didn't have to pay the $108 they were trying to get me for.

Quote: Yes you can get a ticket for tint if your car is parked. You can get a ticket for any violation parked except for moving violations. Including no seatbelt & DUI!!! i.e. If your keys are w/in your reach you can be charged.
but your car has to be on right? thats what i was told. the car must be on.

like that cellphone law...

i see people still eating their bagels or breakfast to-go and shit while having a bluetooth stuck in their ear and swerving trying to get their coffee.

OR~! like grabbing their phone to find a number to dial and such..

i think i should just move back to Arizona.... gotta love that they don't care of catless cars... unless.... something has changed...

but all in all. i just laughed at my ticket for saying Honda Inspire.

w00t w00t! Arizona!

Quote: ^ They don't.

I haven't had a front plate on any of my vehicles for the past 10 years of driving. The one time i did get questioned about it, I told the officer my front plate was in the trunk because the front brackets were broken. He let me off with a warning.

Must just be bad luck, or he needed to fill his qouta.

it depends.. if ur car is an attention getter there gonna pull you over and mess with you.. thats kinda funny that he wrote down it was a honda.. cuz of the badges

I don't get this mentality. He broke the law. Its the officers job to give a ticket.

If you were a cop, would you pull over cars just for a plate? It's not even illegal in all the states. Might as well crack down on street racers. It IS a dick move. my and a lot of other people's

?

What mentality? I know he broke the law, I'm not saying he doesn't have to pay for it or that he shouldn't have to pay for it. I was just stating that he was unlucky because for the most part, cops don't give out tickets for not having front plates in southern california.

Theres tons of things the police can ticket you for; they can ticket you for swearing in public in certain states, but it doesn't mean that they do it all the time.

If I get a ticket for not having a front plate, I'll put the front plate back on, pay the ticket and then take the front plate off again. Why? Because the bracket on my 02 TL-S tends to hit my bumper and scratch the paint. I had the front bumper refinished and I'd like to keep it in the best condition as possible since I plan to sell in about half a year or so.

Oh and I think I know just a LITTLE MORE about the law than you do.

U can put ur liscense back on, go to the police and have it signed off. Than just send in $10 to the address on the ticket instead of 50. Much easier than going to court and wastin time for 10 bucks

There are several that posted that this was total crap and to fight it. That mentality. My point was he broke the law(I dont get what this has to do with how much you know over me?). Sure cops dont have too but they decided too. I agree, there are so many laws that go unforced but thats the way it is.
So my advice is to either put on the plate and pay, or just pay and keep the plate off, but don't take offense when given a ticket.
I think we can agree on that.

Since the ticket was placed on your windshield and you didn't sign it, when you go to court tell the judge that you had no idea your plates were missing until you got the ticket. If you really want to be on the safe side, get a report for your front plates being stolen. Show the judge the police report and he'll throw the ticket out no contest. Yeah it would be a false police report, but no one knows that but us

The car does NOT have to be on. If the cop is an A** hole he can arrest you even if you're sitting in the passenger seat. If your keys are under your seat and you can reach them, you can be charged for it!!! FYI

In CA, it's just a matter of time until you get caught without front plates. I got pulled over once for no front plate and was given a warning. The following week, while parked in front of my house, I found a fix it ticket on my windshield.

After 1.5 hours at the station waiting for the ticket to be signed off along with the reduced fine of $10, I decided to put the front plate on. Not worth the hassle. I use to worry about it all the time at intersections and while driving past cops.

Piece of mind and an easy fix. Put the plate on....

Yeah I agree even though it's ugly. It's not worth hoping that you don't get pulled over. Maybe that's just me cuz my car isn't fresh to death like a lot of acuraziners' TL's.

No shit to that man. I live out here in North Carolina, and I just found out about a week and a half ago that the lowest tint legal is 35%!!!!!! Oh well. They metered mine and told me it was 8% and gave me a $170 ticket!!!!

But I can get out of having to pay for it by going to an inspection station and having a letter written saying that I removed the tint from the windows. Funny thing is, I've got a buddy at one of the local inspection stations that's willing to write the letter without having it taken off!!!! Sweet!!!!

I feel you about Berkeley man. I got a ticket parked at BART even with my plate in my front windshield. That's what I get for taking public transit instead of cruising with these damn gas prices.

I think in CA is more about red light cameras. Cities that have red light cameras love ticketing front plates so they can get you for the bigger ticket later. Berkeley put in the cameras, and that's when I started getting the tickets. I just pay the $10 fix-it rather than risk the red light cameras.

Oh and fyi, you can get em signed off my meter maids and any cop so no waiting at the po-po station. Stake out the local donut shop!

Move to South Orange County. Cops here don't care... usually.

Although I got stopped cause a cop swore that my HIDS were "Too Blue".... and they're stock.

He let me off with a warning and didn't even say anything about the front plate not being there. And this happened two nights ago.
