ticket

was driving home yesterday in the TL-S from work at 12ish in the morning wen this cop pulls me over. I was driving regularly around 30-35ish. He asks me for license and registration. everything checked out fine then he said " the reason why i pulled you over tonite was bcuz u have no front license plate"
I was speechless.... He writes me up a warning and says wen i go to court just to tkae a pic of the car with the license plate on n mayb they will dismisss.
Legal advise is needed im clueless as of wat to do

Better start putting on our license plates guys :/

Put the plate on and take a pic of it like the cop told you... thats what I would do. You said it was only a warning, so im guessing that is not really a ticket just do what the cop said and show the judge. If the judge asks say that the cop told you just to take a picture of it.

I would follow the advice of the cop to take a pic of your car with the lic. plate. I was caught speeding w/o insurance and I was told initially to pay $700 but the day after I was caught, I bought an insurance and showed the court and they lowered my penalty to $400. Its still big though but still a significant change. Did the cop put any notes in the ticket telling you to bring a pic?

What state do you live in? he was probably trying to get you on radar using your front plate and since you didn't have one he pulled you over. Why do you have to go to court if its a warning and not a work order?

I know in NYC pink is a criminal charge If it is just only a warning, do as he says... cant see anything going wrong. Does it state anything on the ticket about a fine?

this is true, in NY you must have a front plate. What state are you from? Not all states have to have a front plate.

Take the pic and then tell the judge that someone had backed into your bumper and caused the plate to fall off and you didn't have a screw driver to put it back on right then and there.

and even tho it is the law and he has every right to pull that gay shit on u...its still gay shit, cuz u know, ur harming ppl when u don't have a front plate on, unlike other harmless ppl doin drugs an shit.

o its even better when they try an get u for bullshit...two nights ago, some faggot ass pulls me over with my gf an friend in the car after seeing a movie...was a little past midnight...tells me to roll down ALL my windows, checks my license an shit, asks if the car belongs to me, asks how old I am, asks if Ive been drinking, checks my eyes to make sure...then tells me he pulled me over for my "illegal custom exhaust". Well I had news for that fu(ker, CA Vehicle code states that a custom exhaust is illegal if #1. It doesnt do what an exhaust system is supposed to do (i.e. Emissions, sound control), and #2. If it is over 95 decibels. The dick said the limit was 50 decibels before I told him what Vehicle Code says.

Prolly realized i wasn't some dumbass but actually new my shit so he let me go...some cops are really cool, others are just plain assholes...and sorry about the thread jack, just had to vent as well

Quick question, can a cop in a different state pull you over for a violation on your car? Example, tints are illegal in your registered state, but you currently reside in another state. Or in my case, I go to school in NY, but my car is registered in NJ, and I have no front plates.

Cop cannot ticket you for things that are legal in your state and that are permanently attached to your car. (i.e. - tint) I live in Indiana and we have no front plate either. Cannot be ticketed in ANY state for not having a front plate when your HOME state doesnt require it. You can be ticketed for things like radar detectors that are illegal in the state you're driving in if its removable. Mine is hardwired.....all they can do is tell me to turn it off.... Just a few examples.

I got one about 2 months ago.
All i had to do was go to the sheriff's office to get it checked off ($15), and send the Certification of Correction along with $10 to clear it off my record. It's called a "fix-it" ticket in Calli but i dont know if its the same in your state.

btw, my front plate was only on that one day for inspection acura cars just dont look right w/ a front plate.

I got one of these tickets in my civic some years back. I just put the front plate back on and got the ticket dismissed. That front plates been on ever since. Hell, I've even gotten a ticket for a loud and unusual exhaust on the civic (Which is complete bullshit here in Texas) .

There are cops out there (Not all cops but some of them) who like to mess with people just because they can. I can drive my civic and there are days where a cop will run up behind me to check my plates. I just deal with it and make sure that my insurance is kept up along with my registration and inspection. What more can you do?

For all you that live in I believe TX, I feel for ya. Someone on the other forums got a ticket for parking his car backend first, like most of us do. What's up with that?

btw Indyjenks, thanks for clearing that up.
