Question Thoughts on 2002 Retail

After visiting my local Acura dealership (with a terrible service dept) to discuss trading my WDP TL-S 02 w/22k miles and learning their trade-in price was insane, i am considering selling it out-right. My question: What do you think is a fair yet aggressive asking price is for the car. It is mint w/o any mods.

Thanks for the input.

I've seen a few in dealer's in the Atlanta area retailing for $28-30k...I would think that $28K is about right...that's closer to retail without going over, yet better that what they are offering on Trade-in (they were offering $25-26 here).

I was looking at a 03 TL-S and their offer was first $23k so i left. They called back and went to 24k. I would sell it out-right for $27k. Do you think i would find a buyer?

I think 26,000 is a fair price . I have seen at least 10 tl type s for under 27,000 with 20 thousand miles on them. I am in the process of selling my 99 tl for a 02 tls and I have found several for this price . Granite their are alot of tl type s selling for 27,500 and 28,000 but those are at dealerships. I wish you luck on selling your type s . I just missed a 02 type s wdp 18,000 miles in Texas for 25,500.

I agree... I don't think you'd get much over that. Most people are not hip to Acura's release schedule... so selling a '02 model with 22k miles will probably not get you a lot of money... especially when one can get an '03 for a couple of grand more.

You also have to remember that many people won't pay extra for the Type-S, so they'll go to the dealer and get a Premium TL for around $28k. I think $26k is fair. It's enough, but not too much.

Let us know what happens, if you can sell it or not. By the way which dealership are you referring to? They all seem to be pretty bad here in NYC

-oops! my bad. No nav. Black interior.

The dealership is in upstate NY. They think they have the market tied up and can charge retail for new cars and only offer wholesale on the trades. I understand they need to make money, but let's be reasonable. They forget about the internet and that the consumer will travel to save/make money.

It sounds like if i could get $26,500 i should take it. Thanks for the feedback.
