Question Those with OBX Headers

I just got a used set of OBX heads, and I know about some of the issues with the welds being sh!ty and also the tendency of hairline cracks. My question is before I have these installed does anyone suggest getting the welds re-done (spot welded) by a weld shop? My second question is in regards to the resonance issues, should I use the OBX gaskets or the original ACURA gaskets and I also heard that replacing the OBX bolts with a bolt that has threads throughout the bolt will stop resonance. Any info and/or those that have tried any of these thoughts please let me know what's up, thanks....

I would not recommend getting the welds redone. It's just not worth the money. As far as gaskets, I found that the openings to the headers were significantly smaller than the port openings on the engine. That's why I had mine port matched. The OBX gaskets will be the same size openings as the headers (mine were leaking badly).

Mine is currently using acura OEM gaskets, since the openings were enlarged. BTW - since I had mine port matched, the resonance has dropped from +/-2700-2800 RPM to +/-2100-2200 RPM. It's still no big deal.

As far as bolts go, I've never heard that fully threaded bolts will cure the resonance. Where did you hear that? If credible, I might try it.

resonance only comes when your in a higher gear and you need to be in a lower one. Use SS mode more often and you won't hear it.

I think I read somewhere on A* U R a W * R l D. Com something about using a fully threaded bolt and crush washers resolved the resonance issue. I'll try and find the thread and let you know...
How much extra was port matching?
Did you buy new ACURA gaskets or did you use the existing ones?

I took care of my resonance issues by using Lock nuts. when I took off my headers to get them coated. I had already lost like two nuts. I don't know, since putting back on my headers I don't have anymore resonance problems.
