Thinking about tinting my windows

fsttyms1 will you post up some pics of your car. I also have a Laguna Green TL and I want to know how it looks with the 35%

When I deceide to do it, its gonna run me 185 (compaired to 215, a guy I work with is gonna hook me up a guy he knows)

The warranty is like 7 years or something like that.

I have 35s on my car right now and I am thinking of re-tinting the car. You can notice a difference with the front and rear windows. The rear windows are alot darker. I want to get something that matches all the way around.... 35s look good in pics but up close it doesnt look that great I dont think...

i used to have 35%.....wasn't dark enough at all for me....could see right through in most situations....went with 15% on the sides and 5% on the back window.... definitely go with some kind of tints though....they really make the car look sharp.

Well, I have 35% on the front and rear windows and 20% on the rear glass (rear winndshield) I definitely looks good. It's not as dark as 20% but a little darker that 35%. Also, depending upon the color of your enterior, the shade of the tint may be darker/lighter also. For example, if you have black leather, the tint will look darker than tint on a car with tan leather.
PS....$185 for tint
Here in Jersey (or even NY) you can get it done for $100

Agreed. 20% is perfect for me. Not to hard to see out of at night but just enough edge to the look.

Anybody got 50% tint all around?

I know its light but do u think its worth doing?

The problem here is that I live in Vancouver BC Canada where we cannot tint the front windows , but i'm thinking of tinting it lighter so that It looks close to stock.

BTW, can anybody post A pic with their 50% tint?

The picture would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

got 35% front, 5% rear windows. 35 im sure is pretty much the legal limit for front window tints in cali.

but dont think about tinting, definitley do it. Its looks alot better.

hey moah i checked out the DMV's site and it says 70% is the "legal" limit, which is BS because the lowest you can do at most tinting places is ~50%.

and i realized from threads in the past that the % rated is almost always higher (meaning its less dark than it really is) compared to the # the police gets with their measuring thing.

so yeah, basically with any tint in the front you can get pulled over. you know how cops can be...

Darn cops, always wanting to be able to see into a car to be sure there's no gangbanger in there with a gun. You'd think they'd be able to know it's simply someone who just wants their car to look sick.

I had 20% on my black Prelude and it looked sick! dark as hell cuz it was black interior too. On my silver TL I got 35% cuz I didn't want to have it taken off when I decide to sell the car... even tho when you have ur windows tested with 35% on the car it will actually read like 28% cuz of the factory slight tint on the windows. So either way it's illegal.

So if you don't care about resale, get 35-20%

50% is really interesting.....i think it's for people who don't really want the blackout look at any time, but want to take the edge off the plain white windows.....example....most of the time when i'm either at my tint shop or driving around and i see a MB like a CL500 or SL55, most of the time they tint 50%....

it looks really classy to a point where being about to see through wont really matter....that's my opinion. my friend wants to get his M3 tinted 50%...no pics though.

I got 35 on the sides and 20% in the rear, it gives u privacy but in my state its also legal and still lets the ladies see the pimp behind the wheel
for the states where u cant tint the front or it has to be minimal , just get 50% and 35 for the back window or 35% all around i doubt you will have any trouble

What brand tint? The first picture had me worried...looked like a little bit of purple bleaching... But the rest of the pictures set my mind at ease... Looks great!

I hear that 3M has a tendency to turn purple after 5-7 years (depending on how much you leave the car out in the baking sun)...

I ran Madico's for 15 years in my previous car...no purple bleaching (at least none that I could tell)...

I have worked in my father in law's tint shop for about 7 years know (in 5 more years i will own the shop yeah!!!!) We have tried many tint companies in the past and the one we have stuck with is madico. We guarntee the film for the life of the car. Wont turn purple or peel off after a couple of years like alot of the other brands do. My tl has been tinted 20% all the way around for the last 6 years and the tint still looks brand new.

If you are going to do it I reccomend going a little darker than 35% because your going to want to get it darker after you have the 35%. I had 5% on my last car and I decided to go with 15% this time, it is dark but not to dark and it looks awesome on my NBP.

Yea...like I said, the car looks great... I think the first picture was just taken at an angle that didn't look right for me...but the rest of the pics set my mind at ease...

Could be my eyes too!

I have 15% as well and it is the perfect percentage. Not blacked out but dark enough for some privacy. Makes the car look very sporty/sleek but classy as well.
