Hello guys and girls. I am a first gen TL owner that is seriously thinking about selling his first gen towards the purchase of a Metallic Blue 2003 TL Type-S with Navi. I am just curious to the problems (if any) this car might give. I am not only referring to major problems but the little annoyances that are most times overlooked. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and I hope that by the end of this summer I can consider myself a second generation TL owner.

 

Personally, I haven't experienced any little annoyances with my TL-S Navi. I bought a 2002, several months back and was aware of the TL-S transmission issues, so I looked for one that had "enough" mileage under the warranty (the one I purchased also had the oil jet kit install done in 2004). In terms of overall value, you're getting an Acura product from the Honda brand - it's a pretty solid product, as you know from your 1G.

 

Run the VIN number past acura customer care at 1-800-382-2238 x5

tell them you are looking at that car and want to know if it is covered on the extended warranty transmission or any other problems the car had fixed under warranty

Some of the 03 cars are not on the trans warranty BUT may still have the wear problem!

The oil jet kit and the warranty issue are different problems

 

Other than the trans issue- the gen 2 cars rock and there are many mods available to us.
