Ok, being that I have been reading so many threads on this tranny issue and whether or not warranty is covering, how about someone letting us know what a replaced tranny is costing without the warranty coverage?

It's roughly 3k, not sure if that includes labor or not... and that is a remanufactured tranny. I believe that might just be parts... and about 400 more in labor costs. (can't remember if labor was included on my invoice for the replacement tranny)

cost of new tranny...

Ok, I made some calls to a dealer that I have dealt with in the past...Here is what they are saying. If your tranny is not under warranty, they are not using a rebuilt acura tranny, they are buying from some place in CA called Howard's Transmission, or I think this is Howard Engineering Corp. Cost is about 5k, but is not an Acura rebuilt tranny, according to the dealer. They also said that this particular tranny comes with a better warranty...not sure 5k is worth it, but interesting none the less...guess depends on how deep the love goes...

There is a mileage cutoff for a rebuild or just installing the kit, get a copy of the recall. I'll do a search.
