Tail light out, not on dash display.

I just noticed my tail light is out but it's not showing on my dash display. Not sure how long it's been out but maybe a while now? Shouldn't my display show any burnt out bulbs?? Glad I haven't gotten yanked by Johnny longarm yet.... Changing it after work though.

I believe it only shows Brake lights out.

the resistance change of a bad brake light part of a bulb- gets picked up and displayed as BRAKE LAMP on the dash
We have multi bulbs on each side for running and brake,
so one bulb failure shouldn't net you a ticket

but its a good reason to observe the taillights when you set the alarm!

note: one rear bulb quits, replace the other side,,
may as well replace all 4 and know you have matched brightness and fresh lifespan
(came as 2 pack from zone)

Otherwise in a month another bulb goes
Our cars are getting on in years, some over a decade- and now they finally need simple things

I always replace the mate no matter what and keep the old still working one as emergency spare. It's saved me quite a few times!
