Sways or Springs

I recently purchased from Tim a set of Comp Tech Sways and installed them myself. After having made other Mods (CAI / Pulleys etc). I can honestly say the Comp Tech Sway Bars and the Denso Iridium Plugs have done the most to improve my car's overall performance. If you don't have the plugs get them, you won't be disappointed. If you're deciding between the Springs and the Sways get the Sways.

I'd go with sways first...Mr.TL has sways and new Bridgestone Potenza's on stock wheels and he says he can't squeal his tires. I think Comptech makes good sways and IMO Eibach makes very good suspension stuff. Somebody with sways and/or springs should reply to your thread soon with their comments.

I've almost finalized my decision to get sways also...just a matter of ordering it from www.autocarparts.com and installing it.

I plan on getting the coilovers later on in spring time.

When I got my car, all I kept thinking about was getting Comptech springs. It looks and handles much better. Next on my list is sway. I guess I will order them next spring so that I will have time to enjoy it!

thanks for the ideas. ya i was gonna get the springs orginally but i live in canada and the weather sucks so dont really want 2 drop it. Will most likely go for the sway bars either neuspeed or comptech. just got a set of bridgstone potenza 950's coming on saturday 225/55/16 on stock rims(paying tution cant afford rims yet) so that should be fun. and those along with the sway bars should keep my car planted very nicely.

I would get the springs first. Lowering the center of gravity will improve handling the most. Also, it will eliminate nose dive during hard braking and squat during hard accelerations. It also makes your TL look more sportier. If springs is still not enough for you, then you can get the sways later. In my opinion, springs will help the most.

Spring first then sway....

Sway will only reduce body roll......

Spring will lower your car for better handling & looks, reduce bodyroll, as well as reduce nose dive...

I agree. I have the Apexi Coilovers on my TL right now and the cornering capability is great. I am also planning to get sways in the spring to compliment my coilovers.

Just got the sways this week and let me tell ya, it makes a hugh difference. Much less bodyroll and generally you car just feel more solid. Get the springs on top of that and you will be handling like a beemer.

Personally, I'd go with the sways first. I have been in a "springed" car and I still like the way my sways and strut feel when cornering. I thought about the spring for later but I don't think it is wise for the New England weather and roads.
