Swapping seat bottoms and backs

On an '03 TL, can the seat bottoms and bacl be swapped between the front driver's and passenger's seat? And, if so, how difficult is it to do?

I am coming up to 50K miles. The driver's seat is used all the time while the passenger seat is seldom used. it makes sense to swap them.

it would be nice to swap the seats but the drivers seats has more control over positions. Also if you were to switch the controls would be on the other side so it might to get to them. Wouldnt the airbags also be an issue?

plus the heated seat on the driverside heats the back and seat(ass) part, where on the passenger side it only heats the seat part.

then theres the lumbar....ect...

If I was you I would price out re-doing the leather, it would be cheaper and less headaches than moving the seats over and trying to connect everything.... heaters, seat adjusters, lumbar, etc...

Plus you wouldn't be able to sell the car if you moved the side air bags to the center of the car.. Once you screw with the safty features you've open a can you don't want to get into.

i think he actually meant the bottom and back leather covers (pca7ggr, stop me if i'm wrong) . in which case i'm sure it can be done, it would just take some time and patience to get through it. i wouldn't mind switching mine to keep them looking even.

You cant! the, the main reasons being are the seat control holes being on the wrong side thru the side of the cover, and a few other lil design differences, and for the seat back the cut out for the side air bag wouldnt be in the right location, causing the side airbag to not opperate correctly, or even cause serious harm.

The only way would be to buy a new cover or new seat

i completely forgot about the airbag, my mistake. the bottom half though should be able to be done shouldn't it? i would imagine the leather/vinyl part doesn't extend all the way down to the seat controls. i'll see if i can find a diagram online somwhere. it's too bad a new cover is so expensive.

u can change the seat bottoms.

but you must take the seatcushion out of the lower assembly.
i switched mine because the driver side was all packed out and my passenger side was like new.

Put the rear bench seat in the front. I would pay to see that.

You don't count. You will probably figure out a way to make custom brackets with air ride underneath it in like 10 minutes.
