Hey guys wats up...got a quick question...should be using a diffrent grade oil since I am S/C? Right now I am using royal purple 5W20 should I switch to 5W30?

and should I switch brands? I got about 74k miles on the motor.

Shouldn't be a problem. I am using 10w30 RP on my car and that is a thicker oil. I am planning for boost as well. Check out Amsoil if you are looking to make a switch.

synthetic engine oil is good all the time--decide the change interval miles on it with an analysis midway, or stick to 6000-7500 mile changes since we like to run the TL hard~IMO

personal opinion statement:
based on info from my bro the pro racer/pro driver coach and track day coach- the team stopped using synth brake fluid in their 3 race cars (2 miatas and a 'vette) as they were able to exceed its temp max, and when that happened... things were worse than when dino brake fluid max temp was exceeded
Strange but true

For those of us (me included) on synth brake fluid- you are fine Dot4, or Dot 5.1 for racers,
No track day is gong to get the brakes as hot as these guys do, but I can attest that left foot braking while full throttle holding with right foot WILL increase brake temps AND decrease lap times by up to 4 seconds!

When the supercharger was installed on my CLS6 (at 45K miles) I switched to Mobile 1 10w30. It gets hellish hot down here in FL , especially in stop and go traffic with the A/C blasting. I'm at 105k miles currently with no adverse change in performance/MPG. Change intervals range between 5 to 6K miles.

Some guys at a local performance shop told me this myth. they said that the oil is thinner and COULD lead to further damage down the road but i did not listen. i still use it today and i have no problems with the car.

I would never go to that shop again. Thinner oil is a product of oil weight, not dino vs syn. The guys that said that are idiots.
