stock TL with slow 1/4
Do you guys think a stock TL type S running a 15.28 to 15.33 with .650 r/t is a good run? somehow I just can/t break into 15.1 for anything, is this common?

Road and Track give a TL-S 0-60 in 7.0 secs and the 1/4 at 15.3@93mph, .83g on the skidpad. This is slightly below average for the vehicles Road and Track have tested over the last several years but at the same time it is below average on price as well.

You can take out the spare and the jack and get to the track with 1\8 of a tank of gas. Get there early and park your car so as to let it cool. I would recommend you drive around the water box, just get up to the line in D3 and blast out with all the power you can with minimal wheelspin. Climate control system off, and traction control system off. This should net you a reasonably decent time. Reaction time is how long it took you to leave after the green light came on but that is another race in and of itself - you 1/4 mile times are from whenever you leave until you cross the lights at the other end. Think of reaction time like this: two identical cars race but one guy takes .550 to leave and the other .551, the .550 car will get to the other end .001 seconds ahead of his friend for the win.

Your MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile is indicative of the power your car is producing. That having been said, 93 isn't bad. However, your E.T. is affected greatly by your launch. A relatively slow E.T. coupled with a reasonably strong MPH suggest that your either came out of the hole really weak, or the wheels spun too much (or, as is a factor in these cars as I well know, the VSA was on and detected wheelspin and cut the power in which case your launch was a combination of the two I just mentioned).
What were your 60' times? You can get a really good idea of how well your launch was by reading those. Try practicing with different tire pressures as well. I ended last season running about 24psi in the front tires and was able to make several 14.8 second passes (with a still relatively bad 2.3 second 60' time -- VSA off) in the high 94mph range.
This year I'm going to have my (much lighter) friend drive and try some different tire pressures.
