O yeah..... get the rear lip too!! If you are worried about the rough ride, check if they cut your bumpstops. That helps a lil bit, or get someone to do a strut adjustment for you. Or better yet, get COMPTECH springs!! I heard they ride like stock, not bumpy at all. Me, i rather go eibach cuz LOWER IS BETTER!!

I have Eibach Pro-kits on my other car with Bilstein Sport struts. Like you, I have 17's with RE-730's. The car rides a bit stiff but it looks much better and I would not trade the handling improvement for the world. Tradeoffs. What struts are you using? Checking the bumpstops is a good idea. If you have not had them for long maybe they will loosen up a bit for you (they did for me). How does the TL handle with the Eibachs?

If you don't like the eibach's get the Neuspeed Sports. I have them and they ride pretty close to stock but give the car a very aggressive stance

But if you do put the stock springs back on, I assure you it will be soooo much smoother. But you won't be able to take those turns as fast though.
My answer... don't put the stock springs back on unless you have to. (Like... if you are dragging your tailpipe cuz it's too low... then you might have to change your springs!)
Besides, where do you have any *bumps* where you live!? The roads are smooth over there.

thankx for the help. I went down 1.25". Are the Comptechs much better? I've got stock everything (shocks, etc.). had them on for a year. The TL handles really sweet with the springs/rims/tire combo. I really wanna know the breaking point. how can i find it. for the record, roads in LA are crappy. PLEASE GIMME SOME FINAL ADVICE...

Or, if your shox have worn out already, you can get KONI Adjustables. They are cool in that you can adjust the stiffness of your ride. At least that's one way to go.

I've got the Comptech springs on my CLS and I'm amazed at the degree of handling improvement. This is how the car should have been designed to handle. (I also have their sways) Make no mistake the ride even with the Comptech's is noticeably stiffer, but, not yet anyways, can it be called harsh. Bumps are felt more since the spring travel is less than stock but the steering is lighter and tighter. Interestingly though the car rides lower in front, the steering wheel input from any road surface imperfections seems the same thru the front. But its definitely more pronounced at the rear. (As you probably know Comptech says their springs are 10 - 15% stiffer than stock).
On a true flat surface the drop in front is AT LEAST 1.5" and probably the same at the rear. The stance is perfect. It's so low that I've necessarily adjusted my seat because the rake of the front thru the windshield is now more extreme although I like it like that. BUT, in order to keep some ride softness, I am keeping to my stock 17" rims so that I can run on a higher profile tire. No 18" or 19" rims for me.
I'm amazed that Acura couldn't find more of a balance in the cars handling and ride quality. I'll probably never go back to stock because of the handling but I hear you and your concern about returning to a softer ride.
Good luck
