Stock Remote Start!!!

Stock Remote Start!!!
Ok, so here’s the deal… I go to my friend’s house to play a little pick-up game of poker… I have to head out because I work the next morning. I parked up the street and as I'm walking to my ’03 Acura TL I unlocked the car with the remote; now, it was at this point I had nothing on my mind and decided to lock the doors again (whatever). Then I again unlocked the car and locked it again (may have been stupid at the time, but it turned out to be the greatest thing I’ve found on this car). When I arrived to the car, it was locked so I hit unlock again and I see my dashboard light up inside my car and I think to myself, “WTF!?!?” Then the car starts by itself!!! I couldn’t believe it!! I was and still am ecstatic about this! I know what I’m doing tomorrow morning before I leave for work!
So to summarize my findings on my ‘03 TL:
(I haven’t had a chance to dabble too much yet, so feel free to post new findings. I did this with the doors locked to start)
1. Unlock the door with the stock remote
2. Lock the door with the stock remote
3. Unlock the door
4. Lock the door
5. Unlock the door
*it is after the fifth step that you can hear the fuel pump turn on and see the dashboard turn on*
You then can open the door and get in; you must put the key in the ignition and turn in on. NOTE: do not start it, it will grind the starter! If you press the brake (which is needed to get out of park) prior to inserting the key the car will then turn off.

We'll have to get together sometime anyway! I'm trying to meet some other Acura lovers.
Hey, if you want to trade cars, i'll gladly take yours and you can have mine (remote start and all)
*I'm not kidding at all, this works on my'03 TL and I will gladly prove it.*
I'll try to video tape it tomorrow and youtube it

Holy Shit it works!!!!!!!!
Actually no...... it doesn't. I just tried it on my car at work. I have a feeling you have an aftermarket starter installed and didn't know it.

Have you just tried pushing teh unlock button like 3 or 4 times in a row to see if that starts it? it very well may with out having to push the lock and unlock. many systems can be added to the oem remote and usually are usually set to like 3 or 4 presses of the unlock or lock

I haven't verified anything with a dealer at all. But here's proof that I do, in fact, have remote start. (all you "must be April 1st" commenters) ugh!
YouTube Vid For Non-Believers
I did open the fuse box on the driver side to see if there was anything that stood out. I found this...

Other than this, I haven't found anything else. I haven't tried any other remote sequences either. I appreciate all your help everyone!
It looks like it may be an Acura/Honda OEM unit. Especially because it uses the existing remote.

you know what? the same EXACTY thing happened to me. I was walking out to my car the first time to show my some friends my car, and by accident i pressed the unlock button three times and POOF....car started! I was like....SWEEET! hahaha. Yeah but anyways, the one i have is with the factory remote but the previous owner installed a remote starter and all you have to do with mine is press the unlock button three times.

Except for having a dedicated button on the keyfob (built into the key like the new Accords), this is pretty much how the aftermarket system on the Camry works. I wish the TL did this!

Yeah you'll hate the limited range using the factory key fob - I had the dealer install an aftermarket remote start in my TL and the range I have on the extra fob is unreal - I am 3 floors up at work and a few hundred feet away I can still start the car out the window.
I've been inside restaurants too and can't see where my car is but hit the buttons from the table and once I get outsie the car has already been started.

try this it works, put the oem key fob up to your chin(below it) and apply a little presure it takes a few trys to hit the right spot and you you'll get twice the distance..
i did it when i was sixteen ever since i been doing it.... try to stand across the parking lot and click lock normaly see if your lights flash if they dont put it up to your chin and try....

yup works, since i did this with my previous car fobs as well.. however can't beat a compustar's range.. it takes me a good 5 minutes to walk to the car sometimes @ work... and the car would be started.... it has about 2km range (without obstacles of coursE).. better then 10-20 meters with the factory one.

and the remote start if anyone wants one that will work with your oem keyfob you can find it on ebay they are about fifty bucks and you also need to leave a key in the car or get a key fob transponder....
