Post Stereo

I just saw a Honda commercial. They seem to have the same stereo's we have. I was a bit dissapointed to see that. Not that there's anything wrong with Honda, but you'd expect something better in the companies luxury vehicles. Oh well, the Maxima seems to have the Infinity stereo as well.

Thumbs down

I saw that too, in the Accord ad! Same exact Bose - guess they're saving money??. They probably don't get our subwoofer in the rear deck though. Mine's been removed anyway

Yep, I think its the Bose. Looks just like the one in the TL brochurs. It would be nice if we at least have more or better speakers.

That'd be pretty funny because the Acura commercials say that the sound system in the TL is especially designed by Bose only for the TL. I could be wrong though... (It may have been a dream or something )

You know, they used to mix the facia on the decks, but the guts were very different. You actually have to pull the deck to find out who made it. All decks labeled BOSE though are made by bose for Acura, the others are made in lots by various companies but they share facias to cut costs.

if you go to bose.com, they say every single bose sound system is made specificly for that model... I think what they're saying is they made the controls differently to fit the dash of those cars...

Each vehicle posts a different acoustic signature that BOSE uses to determine the optimal frequencies and power levels for the systems they install. These acoustic frequencies depend on several factors, including material and build quality. The Acura TL has almost 400 pounds of sound insulation and deadening material, which greatly effect the acoustic signature for that car. While the Honda Accord does offer a BOSE stereo, its sound quality will never compare to the Acura TL due to the materials and craftmanship. Think about it, the power levels given are peak levels, and not the constant power that the speakers are recieving. The TL gets tight, rich sound from about 12 watts/speaker and 35 watts/subwoofer. The Accord's power distribution has to be different because there is less insulation and fewer high-quality components. Don't worry. Even though both cars have a BOSE system, they do not compare
