Steep driveway = Scraping?

I finally ordered my bodykit today (WooHoo! )!

I knew all along I had a steep driveway, but today I left my car in park just as it comes up the driveway, got out and looked, and there is not very much clearance at all between the driveway and the bottom of my bumper. I'm worried now about scraping my new kit. How much lower is the front lip gonna sit with kit installed?

I am also planning on dropping with H&R 50103 sometime this summer to accomodate new wheels , but that doesn't look like a viable proposition at this point.

Does driving up at an angle help at all?

The weather is crappy, but if it clears I'll post pics of my clearance tomorrow.

The body kit is molded into the bumper on my car. If I hit hard going up an driveway, it could crack, so I have to be extra extra careful. My front bumper's been repainted a couple of times already due to scraping. It's inevitable with a drop and a body kit. Don't worry about it too much.

Lay down a long 2x4 at the end of your driveway, it will give you the extra bit of lift you need. Also going at an angle helps alot. Thats what I did with my car. Either that or re-pave the driveway.

My buddy has a 350z he dropped it and installed the body kit @ the same time in his drive way. Needless to say his first drive out, He tore his front bumper in half! Sucks to be him. I laughed. He did'nt.

my Z gets scraped all the time going up.. and its on stock height and no bodykit. but you cant really tell because there's a plastic piece under the actual painted body. the TL just gets by, so im scared to get it dropped. but im definitly gonna need the drop, it looks like a freakin truck next to the Z.

well you cant really tell from this picture how much of an incline my driveway is at.. but yeah, its pretty steep. its just a bad angle of the picture.

Make your passengers get out at the bottom of the driveway and carry the groceries up. If that's not enough, make em come back and gently pull up on the bumpers for extra clearance. That's the price they pay for getting a ride in your nice car.

You won't scrape with the kit.... once you lower the car you should scrape, everypnce and a while.. ..but not at stock height, other wise the a-spec with the body would scrape stock.. My main problem was judging the curb while parking, because you will not be able to stick your nose over any curbs anymore....

I dunno, I have my car dropped about 1.75" all around or so on Tein SS, and I have the bodykit and I only scrape coming out of my driveway if I go real fast and don't turn the wheel at all. As long as I go slow and come out at an angle there's no problems ... I can go over speed bumps at an angle with no problems too.

My driveway doesn't have a steep incline though ...

I do scrape my front lip all the time though, but its usually in parking spaces that have a concrete block in the front or when I'm stupid and pull in too much. Good thing the lip is made of Polyurethane ... it bends and scrapes but it hasn't cracked!

thank god for the bodykit being Polyurethane, otherwise it would have been long gone by now
