Starting problem with my 2003 TL

Got this car two month ago. Had the starting problem about 6-8 times ever since then (twice at gas station). When I cranked the key (tried the valet key also), it did not start. However, it started after I left the car for a few minutes and cranked again. I also had to reset the digital clock a few times after starting failure. Is anybody experiencing the same problem? I'd appreciate if anybody can give some suggestion.

I suspect it's your battery. Try to go to autozones or auto part stores, to get a free battery check-up.

Do all accessories come on properly? Lights? Are they dim? Do you hear any "click"ing?

It does sound simply like a battery problem, especially since you've had to reset the clock. If it's an 03, and has less than 50k miles, you are probably still under warranty.

i had the same problem a couple of times, though it might be the starter because even after jumping the car wouldnt start, but if left alone for about an hour it would start up. it turned out to be a dying battery, been fine since i installed a new battery.
