starter problem
I have a problem with my Acura 03 tl when I try to start the car early in the mornings it makes a clicking sound, I cleaned the battery post and terminals and it is still doing it, however once I get the car turned on the next time that I turn it on everything is fine could it be the battery

it could be the battery- or many things
why dont you go to a parts store for a free electrical system test
How many miles?
what do you do to get it to start the first time?

I just noted OP is in Vegas- subtract 2 years from average battery life of 3-4

and the free test at parts store says what about the battery and alternator condition?

I had to replace my starter because when I turned the ignition, it would make a clicking noise and wouldn't start. Eventually it would start but it was completely random. Some times it would start immediately. Other times, I had to wait like 5 minutes for it to start.

if the battery test good- then the starter is usually the next suspect
These cars have a lot of starts on them by now, many of us having 10 years or more of use
I think thats pretty good life from the starter
Battery cables are also wearing out now
system test are free at most part stores- everyone should get theirs tested and make sure no problems are creeping up on you

The starter motor solinoid attached to the starter motor has the contacts that energize it. As the starter ages the solinoid or linkages sometimes sticks and has a problem pulling it in making contact. As the unit heats up with the motor the clearances are looser and it operates easier. Sometimes the contacts on the solinoid are pitted and carboned and need a few tries to properly connect.
Have a retailer load test your battery for free. If that isn't it, replace the starter.
