SS brake line leaking

ok i got a 99. The rear driver side brake line is leaking i was told by acura dealer. Someone else did the install. having trouble reaching that shop back to getting it fixed.

my question is do you guys think it would need to be replaced or would i have to back to oem?

do they sell only one SS brake line?

any ideas appreciated....

Well the need for replacement depends on where the leak is coming from. If it's leaking at the point of attachment, check to see if it's come loose. If it's on tight at the end with the banjo bolt (the bottom of the pic), try replacing the copper gaskets. If it's leaking at the other end (upper right of pic) and it's tight too, you'll most likely have to replace that hose. That side is a compression/inverted flare fitting so it seals when it's tightened. I'm not sure if you can buy just one SS line but do some ing and you should find an answer. Good luck.

Get it fixed ASAP. You could loose braking all together.

Don't just replace one, replace them all. If one starts leaking, the other three could possibly be about to go, due to build quality, material aging and stresses.

Fix them ASAP, the last thing you want on the road is a brake system failure due to burst brake line(s).

I had a similar issue with SS brake lines I got off a member who picked them up from E-Bay. 2 of the lines started leaking from the metal part which screws into the metal brake line. Fix it asap, driving around with leaking brake lines is asking for trouble.

Don't buy cheap crap for your brakes. Brakes are what keep you and the car in front of you from becoming one. Not something to cheap out on or F around with "experimenting" with unknown vendors/products.

(I don't me *you* personally, OP, I mean in general).

If you have SS lines now- contact the seller/maker to get a warranty replacement part

If you are on the stock rubber lines -yes you can buy just 1 rubber line at the parts store or dealer- they may have to order it from their warehouse- 1-2 day delay

If the leak started after SS install, recheck-
often the old washers get reused- they are CRUSH washers and are meant for 1 time use/tightening
