SRS light on

I did do a search but srs is to short for a proper search.

OK this morning my srs and side airbag light came on. I know the side light comes on when there is something on the seat. But this time nothing was on the seat and I was sitting properly in mine. The side light went off after 5 minutes. But the SRS light is still on.

any clue?

Weird mine just came on this morning as well, just the SRS not the side air bag.
Stayed on all the way to work.

Hopefully someone will have some ideas.........

This is an easy one

Guess who has a 10 year 150k miles warranty extension on the SRS sensor!!!
And for just this reason!
Call the dealer for IMMEDIATE appointment- your airbags are not working- as of now

Only way to find out is to bring it to the dealer. Auto parts stores CANT read those codes. You will want to get it looked at ASAP. When the SRS light is on NONE of your airbags work (and for the 02-03 guys your seatbelt pretensioners dont as well)

you dont need it in writing, but can be found at acuras owner link. Its known at the dealer, BUT its only for a specific part. Now if you get it diagnosed and its not that part you arent covered, if it is you wont have to pay a thing. ONLY way to know is to bring it in.

Just called the dealer 108 bucks to diagnose the light, and "IF" what caused it to come on is covered by the warranty then I don't have to pay.

you can. I would do this but if it comes on again bring it in, or if you have recently disconnected power or pulled any fuses

Dont freak when dealer tells you 100 bucks to look at anything
Thats a legal requirement that gives them proof you say they can work on your car and are not stripping it for parts

Once prob diagnosed- if warranty- new work order is made and you pay nothing

It also covers them against those who want free diagnosis worth a hour of techs time- then dont have dealer do the work, and go to joe cheapo auto repair-

CALL 1-800-382-2238 x5 to know for sure

I live in Tampa FL, and always get my car serviced in Ocala, which is 90 miles away and also where I bought the car from back in 01. The service is great. I really cant complain. Always taken care of the diagnostics. So I payed ZERO

Thumbs up

My SRS light came on about ten days ago. The Acura Service Department determined that it was due to a defect in the seat belt buckle. The invoice indicated a 9-4 Code, Bad Switch in right front seatbelt buckle. Said that it was tied into the restraint system. Service Advisor said that this type of issue is covered for 10 years.
