SRS light on...
i have an appointment with Acura on tuesday to check my SRS light. I asked if this will cost me anything becuase its still under warranty. THey said it should but but they first have to check and fix what the problem is. So i hope its no biggie and i end up paying nothing.. Has anybody experienced the SRS light issue? what was the outcome?

right when i bought my 00 tl last year the srs light was on , they fixed it free and said the sensor is very sensitive on the driver side and the previous owner probally didnt wear their seatbelt alot b/c the drive side sensor is connected to the seatbelt release buton.

i thought it was the passenger side airbag sensor that was very sensitive...never had the light stay on but frequently, when the passenger moves..the light will come on.

I reset my 03 TL-S srs light a couple of days ago using this faq sheet.
Just copy and past this to your address bar then take out the space between the "http ://"

The connector is located on the backside of the driver's side fuse panel.

My SRS ligh went on about 3 weeks ago an went to Acura to get it checked. They had to replace the seat belt and works connected to it. I had to pay like $300 for the wole thing so good luck.

My SRS light was on forever and I brought it to the dealer and they fixed it for free...it should be covered under a seatbelt warranty. The side airbag light is the one that comes on whenever someone or something is putting weight on the passenger side airbag, and its going to come on no matter what, but the techs told me side airbag is not serious but the SRS light is.

if your car's still under warranty....take it to the dealer for anything and everything
however, for those of us that are out of warranty....if your SRS comes on randomly, i'd suggest reseting it yourself once....then if it comes back on, you know something's really wrong, and you should take it to the dealer
follow chemmech's instructions or check out these 2 links -

after i installed my type-s steering wheel and driving around with the airbag not connected, the SRS light stayed on even though everything was back to normal
i just did this reset like 5 minutes ago, it took me 3 minutes to do it, and i'm back to normal
thanks to all the people on this board who posted instructions and help on how to do this yourself...you saved me quite a few bucks!!!

If it has to do with the microswitches in the seatbelts, they are completely covered by warranty even after your 50K warranty expires (local states may vary).
Even my whole air bag controller was replaced by the dealer at no cost to me at another time (after warranty). So in total, mine has come been in twice for that light...

If you're car is older say 3 or 4 years w/original battery it could be low voltage signal making the light come on. Reset mine a few weeks ago (2000 w/orig. battery) after getting new battery and no more light.
