SRS light on

2 days ago the SRS light came on...is this one of those "change the oil" convenience lights or is there a problem?

'01 TL with 20,700 miles.

SRS light is totally different than Maintenance Require indicator. If SRS light is still on, take it to the dealer ASAP!! It should be under warranty if you haven't mess up with anything.

Are you sure it's not Side Air Bag???

I agree with Songoku.

When I have my dealer add a third party immobilizer, SRS light was on immediately after the work. At the time the dealer could reset the light and it never turned on.

However if nothing done for your TL, it is possible that something wrong with your SRS airbag.

As Songoku said, if it was the "side aitbag off" light, it is not a big issue as improper position of your passenger makes the side airbag off. It is normal.

No, it's the SRS light...

The side airbag light is yellow...I think yellow lights warn of stuff and red lights mean "do not pass go, do not collect $200." So far all the red lights have meant bad stuff

Yes they had that seat belt latch recall that could be the problem.
But if its a red SRS indicator light take it to the dealer its covered under warranty.
