most of the srs plugs ive dealt with have a spring loaded sleeve you slide one direction first, then pull the plug the opposite direction..

do you have a red srs light on the dash?
Did you do any electrical work at all on the car recently- any wire cutting? that may have caused the srs light as a false signal
If so try the reset procedure
if it comes back on or if no work done- there is a special 10 year 150kmiles warranty on the srs system, call the dealer

In general for all to know, as we have many new members:
When red srs light on, NO airbags work at all
When the yellow side airbag light is On it means your buddy is leaning against the door glass or you have something on the seat- there is an occupant position detection system as the side airbag could snap their neck (death) if not seated properly or leaned way back

note- the battery must be disconnected, NEG cable, when you work on the system or it will trigger a false code you then have to reset

good precaution, but its not necessary.. i left my battery connected when i was changing out my turn signal combo switch a couple weeks ago.. got everything back together and no problems at all..

sorry- what I meant was:
if unplugging any wiring to do with the seats or srs- that will cause a false code if battery connected
Has happened to many ziners removing driver seat to fix the heater in it, unplug harness and trigger light!

i know.. you have to unplug and remove the airbag (which is part of the srs) to change the combo switch i mentioned..

and yeah, of course i didnt turn on the car at all when it WAS disconnected.. thats probably the main issue.. you can have the battery connected, just dont be retarded and turn the ignition on if any of the srs plugs are disconnected..

Good to know- just leave the keys elsewhere while doing work so you don't forget. Then you don't have to re enter all your radio presents, settings, theft code, seat memory, etc...

exactly my thoughts.. before taking anything apart, i called up my buddy that works at honda and he assured me that nothing would get screwed up if i left the battery connected..

as an example of what happens when the airbag deploys:

Have you seen on Tosh.0, the cab driver with no seat belt, right arm laying on the seat top edge- and falls asleep driving, awakens as he goes off the road, overcorrects and suddenly there is a quick white flash!! and the 220 lb guy gets catapulted into the rear seat, then bounces up into the rear window deck!

Had to rewind and watch it several times to figure out what happened- it was that quick deploy and gone- just a guy flying thru the car~

I would hate to be working around an airbag and have it trigger, but I'm Mr Safety
