Squeaking after installing UR Crank Pulley

Anyone have this problem after installing the pulley? It's been going on about 2 weeks after install... and i've been ignoring it until now when I had time to investigate. I am using both the correct NAPA belts that the instructions listed.

One strange observation is, I asked a mechanic and he told me to spray it with a bit of soap and water to see if squeak goes away. It does... but as soon as water evaporates from engine bay heat... squeaking starts again.

Hope someone can help out.

sounds like thebelt isnt siting properly in the pully. Could be acouple things. The pully may be on wrong causing a improper alignment or the belt happens to be a bit out of spec causing it. You could try spraying a bit of belt dresing on it to see if it takes care of it ortry a new belt and see if that fixes it

Glazed belt maybe? Have you tried tightening the belt? The same thing happened to my old Accord.

dont keep wetting the belt or it will dry out and crack faster, i have the pulley too and it does the same thing, not noticelable unless the radio is all the way off or ur standing by the hood. try and tighten the tensioners a lil but basically it wont be perfect, a small price to pay for speed

I have the same problem. some w40 or silicone spray helps; but it only keeps it quiet for few days. I stop spraying it cuz I cannot hear anything inside the car even w/ radio off.

you should try retightening the belt...i had the same problem w/ my UR crank installation and its something you can DIY no prob.

i'm guessing that belts stretch a bit from their original forms when new

how hard is it to find a place to install the pulley? and how expensive. I am very close to buying one, but don't want to be stuck not knowing cost related to installation and difficulty finding a place to do it. I have heard from several members that acura dealers wont install them anymore is this true?

$100 should be sufficient. I got mine installed for $75. in less than an hour. A shop specialized in Honda can do it in no time.

so is the dealer out of the questions(will not install it)? I don't know of any shops around my area that specialize in honda/acura's. Isn't our crank pulley the same as any other cars, so shouldn't anyone that has changed them before know how to do it right?

there is nothing special to the crank pully. Just a bolt and pull it off

the dealer wont do it just go to a privately owned shop, and for those that constantly coat the belts with wd-40 and belt conditioner, eventually those sprays will dry the belts out and they will snap on you. a minimal noise is expected but if it turns into a loud squal then most likely the belts arent tight enough
