Spongy brakes

Spongy brakes
Hi,
Are the brakes on the TL (non-type-s) spongy or should I take it to the dealer?
If they are spongy by default, is there a way to make them harder or is that not advisable?
Thanks,
-Tom

I also test drove many Luxury vehicles last summer at the Caddilac Motor Trend World Challenge. This was to compare other brands vehicles to Cadillac brand. The others were such as LEXUS LS430, BMW#series cars, Jag S Type & BENZ #series cars.
The Cadillacs were the DTS, STS, Catera Sport. People had a chance to drive the cars around a parking lot at FED EX FIELD were the REDSKINS play football. They had cones set up around the large parking lot. All the cars that I drove had that soft brake pedal feel ofcourse some had better brakes than others.

The TL brake pedal has a mushy feel & the pedal needs to travel more for you to get the brake effect if you are gentele with brakes.

Sorry for the delay in replying... My ISP decided to fix something on the network
>can you get your foot behind the pedal when you have your other foot on the brake?
Yes I can get my other foot behind. It is just that I got used to driving a Dodge Stratus and Ford Taurus (don't even ask) and the brake in that was hard.
Thanks,

When I first drove my new car out from the dealership, I also found that the brake pedal was softer (but not spongy) than other Honda/Acura cars I have driven, and the brake travel was also longer. But I thought that may be the brakes are new and had not fully set in.
So I waited and waited until the first service came up. I told the service guy about the still soft and long brakes, and they flushed out and service the brake system. After that operation, the brake pedal returned to the normal hard feel and the brake travel was also much shorter.
