Splash Guards, on or off

I bought an 03 TL Type-S about 6 months ago with splash guards. I see other TLs without them and wonder if mine would look better without as well.

What does everyone think? Also, if I take them off, can I wax off any dirt underneath?

Thanks

Gently pull them slighly away from the car and check to see where they meet the pain if they have worn the paint away yet.

Rest assured, that if they have not yet, they will wear the paint completely away where they contact the car.

I didn't discover this until well after it was worn away (to the metal), so I have no option but to leave them installed now.

If your paint is good (or only scuffed and buffable) then I would consider removing them.

Same happened to me and now I don't have a choice. Is this covered under warranty? I wish I had put something between the paint and the splash guards. I like the look and they keep a lot of grime off the car but I hate what it does to the paint.

Well it's hard to tell. I can't see all the way down. What if I take them off, try to clean, and realize they have to stay on? Are they easy to remove and put on?

Take them off, or if you want paint them to match the color of your car.

The car is black, so they match. Does anyone who says to take them off have a particular reason? Does it really help keep the car clean?

If you don't plan to get the OEM body kit or any other body kit, then keep them on. That is the only reason you should take them off. Other reason I hated the splash guards were because since I have a white car, the black flaps didn't look good on it.

However, they do a good job of keeping the road tar, mud, and other crap off the car's body.

My splash guards came with the car. They blend in with the dark color of my paint and they keep **** off the bottom panels, so I prefer they stay on.

If I had a light colored car however, I'd take them off immediately.

Has anyone thoght about having them painted to match the color of the car? Is that a no no? Are there any issues I am not aware of by having them painted?

Keep them on, I wish I would have listened to everyone when I got my TLS. I was warned they would take the paint off but I didn't know how long it would be till I got my kit. A few months later I got the kit and the paint was completely rubbed off by the mud guards. Unless your ready to have some paint work done, leave them on.
