Speeding Ticket in NC...need help!
I got a speeding ticket in Nash County a couple of weeks ago going E on 64. I was going 77 in a 65 and this is my 3rd 4 point ticket in the past 8-9 months. So I really need to get this dropped, reduced or something or I may lose my license (12 points in 12 months and bye-bye license according to VA law). I've gotten several letters from lawyers in NC stating that if I send them $$ they will appear in court for me to try to have the charges dropped or reduced. Has anyone out there done this? Is it worth the money? Are there other options? I can't appear in court myself, so that's not an option.
What stinks about the whole thing is that I drive over 40000 miles a year, about 3 times that of the average driver. So 12 points in a year isn't quite as bad as it would be for most.

I lived in Greensboro, NC from '90 - '94 and did get a speeding ticket I believe in '92 or '93. I will look through my file for you and get the name of the attorney who took care of it for me. What happened with me was I brought the guy my speeding ticket (When I walked into his office he was sitting at his desk with a pile of pink tickets in the middle of it - kinda weird). Anyway, I paid him a flat fee of I think it was around $350 or so and he took care of everything (he was also an ex-judge). I will find his name for you and e-mail you the info this afternoon.
Always get an attorney and fight these.
My experience has been to wait until the day of the court case - and get there early. You will see attorney's in the hall waiting for cases to be called - approach several of them and briefly (very briefly) explain your predicament. They will either take your case or point you to someone else, and because this is a "pickup game", you can usually get themn to do it for $100 or less.
