SOMETHING FROM SPEEDVISION...(long)

I don't know what the show was, but the other day some guy was interviewing the president of marketing for Acura and the VP of product design for Acura who was from Japan. They talked about all of the Honda/Acura cars, but it was the piece on the TL that I was caught by (obviously). They talked about how great the car was selling for them and then the guy interviewing started talking about future styling possibilities. Both of the Honda / Acura guys said the look of the TL would not change drastically from what it looks like now for at least 5 years. They said this car is designed for people aged 35 - 65 who want a performance oriented sedan that is not overly stylish. Being 22 and noticing that every other TL and TL-S car I see around has a old person driving it, this makes since. I just wish they would throw a cool style onto the TL. I know the Maxima's taillights are different, but at least that car gets noticed for something. At least 20 people I have showed my car to, say it is a Honda Accord before looking closer. I love the car, but the rental car look has to go sooner than 5 years or people will buy something else.

Sorry for the long post.

resale value

To me it's a good news, 'cuz that(moderate changes) will keep resale values strong and high.
Look at all the LUXURY cars with strong resale values, such as MB's, they hardly go thru MAJOR face lift or changes.
This will help to keep the retention rates high, thus keeping high resale vaules.

The lifespan of a BMW style is around 9 years. There is another site said that the TL will get a resdisgn in 2004. I don't know is this true or not.

Hey, the Nissan Maxima's current style only last till 2002. The 2003 Maxima is going to be a different model.

as far as bmw, i think u might be mistaken, they have definitely changed the 3/5/7 series more often than that. and as far as maxima, the reason its changing again so soon is cuz its getting bumped up to avalon class officially. and altima will become the accord competitor.

I don't know who YOU'RE renting cars from, but I've never gotten anything as nice or as stylish as a TL! Do you really think the TL looks as plain as the Dodge Stratus, Ford Taurus, or Pontiac Grand Am?

I'd say VW is one company that keeps it style for a long time. Look at the GOLF...

yeah, i think vw sticks with a very european design, and most of those compacts tend to be squarish. but the damn little boxes can sure haul ass.
