Something ate my hose >.>
Something ate my hose >.>
Hey guys,
I wanted to know if anyone else had a problem with the windshield wiper fluid hose or if anyone has replaced theirs.
I got a call from my parents (I dropped off my car at their place so that it can be garaged while I recover) telling me that the windshield wiper fluid didn't work.
Being paranoid, I got my friend to drive me home (a good 60 miles or so away from orange county) and I took a look under the hood and saw that something had in several places, literally eaten through the hose that connects from the wiper fluid container to the two nozzles on top of the hood.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I've always gotten my oil changes at an acura dealer, and they're the only ones who have been filling up the wiper fluid.
Does anyone know the part number for the hose?
I have to take the car in for a 60k soon, and I'd love if it they'd replace the hose for me... but something tells me that the stealership will charge me a ton just for the hose.
Any help would be great.
Btw: for those that have been sending me PM's asking about my condition - Its been about 5 weeks since I had complete reconstructive surgery of the right achilles tendon. Doctors said the surgery was a complete success (completed in about 4.5 hours) and that I'll be able to return to playing basketball and competing in my club track events. They of course said that its unlikely that I'll be able to play at the level I was at before, but since I'm only 23 and young I might be able to make a full recovery. Being a former college athelete (sprinter in the 100m dash and a bench warmer on the basketball team for cal) it bummed me out but I figure its a challenge to overcome.
But yeah, been hobbling around on crutches with a big cast on for the past 5 weeks. Had to study for and take my first year law school finals with it on... man that was a bitch. But I've learned 3 valuable lessons from all this.
1. Men be good to your women - they will be the ones to carry your ass around when you're broken and can't get around.
2. Get *&#$ing health insurance - god.. I had to sell the STI to pay for the surgery.
3. When life hands you lemons, grab some vodka and make some *&#$ing hard ass lemonade and swallow it like a man - self explanatory don't ya think?

I would just head down to the parts store and get some hose thats the same dia and stick it in place. probably get 6 feet of it for 2-3 bucks tops. I havent heard of any one having that problem but a few others have had mice chew thru wires
Other wise order them thru here the exact parts you need. they will be cheaper than the dealer.

Was this not a TSB? I clearly remember reading something that said TLs were shipped when new with fluid that would corrode the hoses of the windshield washers. Not that that helps you, but it is at least an explanation.
